Abstract: A linear light-emitting diode (LED)-based solid-state lamp comprises an LED driving circuit, LED arrays, a rectifier configured to convert an input AC voltage into a DC voltage, and an electric arc detection and current control module. The electric arc detection and current control module comprises a first derivative circuit configured to detect voltage variations from the DC voltage provided by the rectifier. The DC voltage varies drastically when an electric arc occurs while maintaining intact when the input AC voltage is not affected by the electric arc. The first derivative circuit takes a first-derivative of the voltage variations, coupling to a comparator circuit to determine if the electric arc occurs. When the electric arc is detected, the electric arc detection and current control module shuts off a current return from the LED arrays to reach the rectifier, hence preventing the electric arc from occurring during relamping or operating.

Abstract: The invention provides a lighting panel, for use for example within a modular surface system, comprising one or more strips of solid state lighting elements associated with a reflector structure. The lighting panel is adapted for improved uniformity of light intensity across the width of its output area. Lighting elements comprise two or more subsets, each subset adapted to collectively generate a different light intensity profile across the width of the panel output window. The subsets are selectively adapted to generate profiles which, when blended, mutually offset one another's deviations from some common mean intensity across the width of the output window, thereby generating a combined intensity profile of improved uniformity. Embodiments include arrangements in which subsets of lighting elements are adapted to have differing actual or virtual optical path lengths to the reflector surface. Also provided are embodiments further comprising an acoustically absorbing back surface, for providing an acoustic dampening function.

Abstract: The illuminants arrangement includes a plurality of LED-based light sources that are encased in a water-tight manner by way of one or more encasings, wherein the light sources are, at least in a group-wise manner, operationally interconnected by way of electrical connection leads. The connection leads include voltage supply leads. The illuminants arrangement as a protection of the one or more encasings and the light sources from mechanical damage includes at least one protective overlay for being placed onto the one or more encasings, so that light emitted by the light sources can be emitted through the at least one protective overlay. The illuminants arrangement can include a heating device. Each of the light sources can be suitable for emitting light of a variable color, wherein the color of each of the light sources can be individually selected by way of a control unit.

Abstract: A cap with an illuminated plastic bill assembly. An illumination assembly provides power and controls for a light source that is used to illuminate the edge or surface of a plastic cap bill. The light passes into and through the plastic cap bill, causing the plastic cap bill to light up and glow in a variety of ways. The plastic bill can also be further decorated in various ways to allow for unique designs to light up and stand out. A cap crown portion provides the foundation to which the illumination assembly and plastic cap bill can be connected to through connection means. All of the listed components combined provides an assembly for a cap with an illuminated plastic bill.

Abstract: A linear lighting module includes a first string of series-connected LED dies and a second string of series-connected LED dies. The first string of LED dies is coupled in parallel with the second string of LED dies. All of the LED dies of the first and second strings are aligned with respect to one another. The LED dies of the first string and the second string form a combined string of interleaved LED dies such that an LED die of the second string is disposed between every successive pair of LED dies of the first string. The LED dies of the combined string are mounted on a flexible substrate. Each LED die of the combined string is electrically connected to two conductors. Except for the two end LED dies of the combined string, each successive LED die must be accessed by both conductors from alternating sides of the combined string.

The control wire includes an exposed portion which is a portion of the control wire in a longitudinal direction of the control wire and which is disposed between the base and the cover to transmit and receive a second polarized wave that differs from the first polarized wave in a polarization direction.

Abstract: A LED lighting device includes LEDs operable to emit light when powered through an electrical path. The LED lighting device includes a housing and a communications module for wireless communication to and from the LED lighting device. An antenna for receives and transmits a wireless signal where the antenna comprises a slot in the housing. A power supply in the electrical path for providing power to the LEDs may be retained in the housing. The communications module may be retained in the housing with the power supply. The housing may form part of the LED lighting device structure such as a reflector surface.
