The first fibrous layer has a first side connected to the second side of the film and a second side. The fabric layer has a first side connected to the second side of the first fibrous layer and a second side. The second fibrous layer has a first side connected to the second side of the fabric layer and a second side. The film can be a non-heat shrinking film. The retaining members may be configured to contact a surface on which the composite fabric is placed and resist movement of the composite fabric relative to the surface where the retaining members include a corrosion inhibitor.

    摘要: A ballistic tile for use in an imbricated pattern of like ballistic tiles to achieve coverage of a protected area by the imbricated pattern, while having rounded corners to limit the potential for spalling on ballistic impact. The ballistic tile may include a strike face that is generally undulating to laterally deflect at least a portion of the impact force, and to induce turning of the ballistic projectile on impact to further distribute the impact force. The ballistic tile may also include one or more features on an obverse and reverse side thereof that, when arranged in an imbricated pattern, limit lateral motion of the tiles on ballistic impact, and/or laterally transmit the energy of the projectile for deflection and absorption thereof.

    摘要: Resiliently flexible articles include a resiliently flexible element, a first rigid element, and a second rigid element. The resiliently flexible element is formed of a fiber reinforced polymeric composite. The first rigid element is formed of a first thermoplastic composition and at least a portion of the first rigid element is bonded, such as by an overmolding process, onto a first portion of the resiliently flexible element. Similarly, the second rigid element is formed of a second thermoplastic composition and at least a portion of the second rigid element is bonded, such as by an overmolding process, onto a second portion of the resiliently flexible element. The resiliently flexible articles can be useful as springs, limbs, living hinges, and the like.

    摘要: A multilayer tape is provided. A method of masking a surface is also provided. The multilayer tape includes an inner layer, at least one middle layer, and an outer carrier layer. The inner layer has a pair of parallel adhesive strips demarking an inner gap having a predetermined width. The middle layer is adhered to the inner layer and has a pair of parallel adhesive strips demarking a middle gap narrower than the inner gap. The outer carrier layer is adhered to the middle layer. The method includes applying a multilayer tape system to a surface and removing the outer carrier layer to expose a preselected gap width. The multilayer tape system includes an inner layer, at least one middle layer, and an outer carrier layer.
