摘要: A feedback device for use in a gas turbine engine, and methods and systems for controlling a pitch for an aircraft-bladed rotor, are provided. The feedback device is composed of a circular disk and a plurality of position markers. The circular disk is coupled to rotate with a rotor of the gas turbine engine, to move along a longitudinal axis of the rotor, and has first and second opposing faces defining a root surface that extends between and circumscribes the first and second faces. The plurality of position markers extend radially from the root surface, are circumferentially spaced around the circular disk, and extending along the longitudinal axis from a first end portion to a second end portion. At least part of the first end portion and/or of the second end portion comprises a material having higher magnetic permeability than that of a remainder of the position markers.

摘要: A method of monitoring the health of an aircraft propeller whilst the propeller is in operation, the propeller having a plurality of blades extending radially outwardly from a central axis extending through the propeller and a propeller drive shaft, is provided. The method includes obtaining measurements representative of strain in the propeller drive shaft using multiple primary strain sensors, each primary strain sensor providing respective measurements representative of strain. The primary strain sensors are located around a circumference of the drive shaft of the propeller, and each strain sensor is located such that it crosses a plane defined by the radial direction of a blade and the central axis, the plane being bounded by the central axis. A corresponding propeller health monitoring system, an aircraft propeller comprising the system and an aircraft comprising the propeller are also provided.

摘要: A method controlling a thruster of a marine vehicle is provided. The marine vehicle is at least partially submerged in a liquid and includes a body and a thruster including two propellers. Each propeller includes blades intended to tum about a rotation axis of said propeller. The method includes a step of low-speed maneuver controlling, during which the thruster is controlled in such a way that each propeller generates a flow directed toward the flow generated by the other propeller and reaching the flow generated by the other propeller.

摘要: A curved body (830), for propelling fluids, crafts and harvesting fluid power, comprises a convex outer leading surface securely connected to a concave inner trailing surface to define an open vessel. Upon oscillation, ambient fluids are accelerated and ejected from the vessel to propel the vessel and the ambient fluids in opposite directions. Apparatus is secured to a motive power source directly or via actuating member (832), by fastening through aperture (834). The oscillating propulsor can be operated directly by a reciprocating motive power source, and indirectly by the reaction momentum imparted to a supporting base. Thrust may be vectored by rotation of the curved body (830) about the supporting base. Drag reduction using fluid dynamic shapes, intake openings, a fore fin (844), an aft fin (846), and a lubricant cavity, are embodied. Enhanced propulsion using multistage oscillating propulsors is embodied.

摘要: A bistable pitch propeller includes a ball, a spring, and a clutch module where the clutch module has a range of rotational movement between a locked end position and a released end position. The clutch module includes a detent, where the ball sits inside and outside of the detent when the clutch module is in the locked end position and released end position, respectively. In response to an input torque and a spring force from the spring, the clutch module rotates toward the released end position and the locked end position, respectively. The bistable pitch propeller also includes an aircraft blade where the aircraft blade is at the first pitch angle and the second pitch angle when the clutch module is in the locked end position and the released end position, respectively.

摘要: A Pulsed Locomotor (120), for propelling media, fluids and crafts, in fluids and on land, comprising a blade (124) securely connected to a drive shaft (122). Upon reciprocation, the ambient medium is forced towards the trailing edge of the blade (124) thereby causing a reactive locomotion of the apparatus, substantially along the plane of the blade. Apparatus is secured to motor M by fastening through aperture (130). The apparatus can be operated directly by motor M, and indirectly by the reaction momentum imparted to a supporting platform P. Thrust is directed by steering handle (128) about a bearing (126), rotatably coupling to platform P and base C. Lubricant L is supplied to outlets (134) via conduit (136) and inlet (132), to coat the apparatus with a lubricant cavity, for drag reduction. The blade (124) planes along a figure 8 reciprocation path s1e1s2e2s1. Crafts are embodied.

摘要: Provided is a driving apparatus of a variable pitch propeller having blades, each of which has a pitch angle changed in a rotational direction of a propeller shaft, and a pitch adjuster for adjusting the pitch angle. The pitch adjuster includes blade actuating shafts that are connected to eccentric stubs coupled to lower ends of the blades and are disposed inside the propeller shaft so as to allow linear reciprocation and to push or pull the eccentric stubs, and a power converter that converts a rotating motion of the propeller shaft into a linearly reciprocating motion of the blade actuating shafts.
