    摘要: The asphalt formulations according to the invention include the use of post-consumer recycled materials and provide for shingle and roll roofing membranes that exhibit performance requirements of the roofing industry. The formulations provide additional benefits of less blistering compared to conventional polymer modified asphaltic formulations, and are less susceptible to external damage such as scuffing and granule loss. The post-consumer recycled materials are olefinic polymers such as polyethylene and polypropylene waxes that may be derived from, for example, feedstock from waste agricultural films, bottles, milk jugs, waste plastics, consumer bags, polyolefin plastics, and synthesized plastics.

    摘要: A self-bonding refractory powder product for use in making a slurry for investment casting molds comprising a coarse refractory powder; a Nano-sized powder; and an organic polymer powder, wherein it does not require aqueous colloidal silica to produce slurries used to build investment casting molds. The Nano-sized powder comprises fumed alumina, boehmite, fumed silica, or fumed titanium oxide or combinations thereof. The coarse refractory powder comprises milled zircon, tabular alumina or fused alumina, fused silica, alumino-silicate, zirconia, and yttria or combinations thereof. The organic polymer powder comprises a cellulose-based material.

    摘要: A concrete composition and method include a portion of fine aggregate bearing a coating of a polymer or an admixture, which may be a continuous coating layer or a layer of powdered, discrete particles embedded in a binder. The polymeric coating may be an admixture in powdered form, a super absorbent polymer (insoluble in water, but absorbing water), or another polymer such as the acrylamides, co-polymers thereof, polyacrylamides, or the like (soluble in water). The coating absorbs water, but particles are too small to form significant voids. Water is absorbed into the concrete mix in far greater proportions (e.g. w/c ratio over 0.5) improving workability, doubling workability time, and improving ultimate compressive stress (strength).

    摘要: A system for forming a coating on a substrate is provided. The system includes a first mix having a cement, a filler, a defoamer, a cement retarder, a dispersing agent, or any combination thereof. The system additionally includes a second mix having a fatty acid derivative, a synthetic resin, one or more organosilicon compounds, a pigment, a thickener, or any combination thereof. A coating composition is formed by mixing the first and second mix together. Lastly, the system includes a spraying apparatus that applies a wet film to the substrate wherein the cured coating does not yield to wet-rubs and does not stain (effloresce) with cold distilled water.
