摘要: A method of production of lignin and hemicellulose from a plant lignocellulosic material includes (a) contacting a plant lignocellulosic material with an extraction solution during more than 2 hours at a temperature between 95° ° C. to 110° C., thereby obtaining a solid fraction and a liquid fraction, (b) separating the solid fraction and the liquid fraction, (c) concentrating the liquid fraction so as to obtain a concentrated liquid fraction, (d) mixing equal parts by weight of water with the concentrated liquid fraction so as to obtain a suspension comprising solid particles in suspension in a liquid medium, (e) separating the particles and the medium of the suspension, (f) recovering the particles of the suspension thereby obtaining a fraction comprising lignin called lignified fraction, (g) recovering the medium of the suspension thereby obtaining a fraction comprising hemicellulose called hemicellulosic fraction.

摘要: The present invention relates to separation of lignin from an aqueous slurry containing lignocellulosic biomass material comprising providing the aqueous slurry having an initial pH level to at least one precipitation phase for precipitating lignin, performing said precipitation phase during a reaction time including adding at least one acidifier, wherein a decrease in the pH value of the aqueous slurry to a lower ph level is created, separating the lignin in a first separation phase, performing an acidification phase including, performing a re-slurry step including mixing lignin from the first separation phase with an acidifier to form an acidic slurry, establishing a reaction temperature in a range of 65-95 degrees Celsius. and performing a retention step including maintaining the acidic slurry at the reaction temperature for a reaction time period of 30-60 minutes, and separating the treated lignin content from the acidic slurry in a second separation phase.

摘要: Processes disclosed are capable of converting biomass into high-crystallinity nanocellulose with surprisingly low mechanical energy input. In some variations, the process includes fractionating biomass with an acid (such as sulfur dioxide), a solvent (such as ethanol), and water, to generate cellulose-rich solids and a liquid containing hemicellulose and lignin; and mechanically treating the cellulose-rich solids to form nanofibrils and/or nanocrystals. The crystallinity of the nanocellulose material may be 80% or higher, translating into good reinforcing properties for composites. The nanocellulose material may include nanofibrillated cellulose, nanocrystalline cellulose, or both. In some embodiments, the nanocellulose material is hydrophobic via deposition of some lignin onto the cellulose surface. Optionally, sugars derived from amorphous cellulose and hemicellulose may be separately fermented, such as to monomers for various polymers. These polymers may be combined with the nanocellulose to form completely renewable composites.

摘要: A process for separating lignin and volatile reaction products from a black liquor derived from pulp production, lignin is demethylated in a heat treatment reactor and CH3+ ions separated out are reacted with reduced sulphur-containing components from cooking chemicals in the black liquor to form DMS a rise in pressure in the heat treatment reactor is controlled and DMS is withdrawn when a pressure of ≥15 bar to ≤40 bar, is reached in the heat treatment reactor the black liquor which is depleted in DMS is transferred to a first precipitation stage and CO2 and/or sulphur-containing reaction products are added to precipitate out a slurry containing demethylated lignin which is transferred into a second precipitation stage with at least one sulphur-containing acidifying agent, and the precipitated unrefined slurry containing demethylated lignin is discharged from the second precipitation stage; and supplied to a demethylated lignin separation step.

摘要: A lignin dispersion composition comprising spherical lignin particles dispersed in an aqueous medium, wherein the spherical lignin particles have a size exclusively within a range of 100 nm to 5 microns. Also described herein is a method of producing the lignin dispersion, by: (i) dissolving lignin in an organic solvent substantially devoid of water yet miscible with water to result in a solution of the lignin in the organic solvent; and (ii) producing the lignin dispersion by dialyzing the solution of the lignin with water until substantially all of the organic solvent is replaced with water with simultaneous formation of spherical lignin particles dispersed in the water. Also described herein is a method for stabilizing an emulsion by intimately mixing the emulsion with the lignin dispersion. Also described herein is a hierarchical assembly of porous microparticles produced by mixing the lignin dispersion with an emulsion and an amphiphilic block copolymer.
