摘要: A mill dried microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) is obtained in a process comprising the steps of a) providing MCC having a moisture content of from 20 to 75 percent, based on the total weight of the moist MCC; and b) mill-drying the moist MCC in a single device capable of milling and drying in combination. The process can provide mill-dried microcrystalline cellulose having similar particle size distribution (LEFI, DIFI and EQPC) and moisture content as the corresponding spray-dried microcrystalline cellulose. The process can provide mill-dried microcrystalline cellulose having a higher tapped/untapped bulk density and/or a lower Carr index, while keeping a similar moisture content, as the corresponding spray-dried microcrystalline cellulose.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a polymer in which bovine serum albumin (BSA) is conjugated to a polysaccharide, a method of preparing the same, an enzyme-stabilizing composition including the same, and a method of amplifying or detecting a target nucleic acid molecule in a biological sample by using the same. The polymer is used to prevent the hydrolysis, oxidation, or reduction of an enzyme, such as a nucleic acid polymerase, in a composition, thereby maintaining the stability of the composition. Even when stored at room temperature and high temperature, a composition including the polymer can stably maintain enzymatic activity equivalent to that of a composition kept frozen. Accordingly, the polymer of the present disclosure and a composition including the same efficiently detect a target nucleic acid molecule associated with the onset of infectious diseases and/or cancer, and thus can be usefully applied to the diagnosis of diseases.

摘要: A composition comprising nanocellulose is disclosed, wherein the nanocellulose contains very low or essentially no sulfur content. The nanocellulose may be in the form of cellulose nanocrystals, cellulose nanofibrils, or both. The nanocellulose is characterized by a crystallinity of at least 80%, an onset of thermal decomposition of 300° F. or higher, and a low light transmittance over the range 400-700 nm. Other variations provide a composition comprising lignin-coated hydrophobic nanocellulose, wherein the nanocellulose contains very low or essentially no sulfur content. Some variations provide a composition comprising nanocellulose, wherein the nanocellulose contains about 0.1 wt % equivalent sulfur content, or less, as SO4 groups chemically or physically bound to the nanocellulose. In some embodiments, the nanocellulose contains essentially no hydrogen atoms (apart from hydrogen structurally contained in nanocellulose itself) bound to the nanocellulose. Various compositions, materials, and products may incorporate the nanocellulose compositions disclosed herein.

Also disclosed are compositions comprising adhesive resins, in which the adhesive resins comprise a condensation product of formaldehyde and at least one phenolic compound, and the condensation product is formed in the presence of cellulose, wherein at least a portion of the cellulose is type-II cellulose. Articles of manufacture containing the admixtures and compositions, such as plywood and oriented strand board, are also disclosed. In addition, methods of preparing the compositions and articles of manufacture are disclosed.
