    摘要: The invention relates to blends of polyamides in polyesters, a method for forming such compositions, and to containers made from such compositions. Specifically the compositions have less haze and transparency than previous blends. The blends can be used as passive gas barriers, and/or active oxygen scavengers with the addition of a transition metal catalyst. The invention seeks to obtain balanced refractive indices for the polyamides/polyester compositions. A method to blend the copolyester and polyamides and orient the blend to minimize the haze, thereby forming an oriented article, is also described and claimed. These articles have excellent gas barrier properties.

    摘要: The invention relates to reactive monomers containing 2-cyanopenta-2,4-dienoate and methacrylic or acrylic double bonds in their molecules. The reactive monomers are easily polymerizable in a variety of ways. The polymerized reactive monomers can form strong adhesive bonds between a variety of substrates. The adhesive bonds are water and humidity resistant, heat resistant, impact and peel resistant and can sustain large loads and stresses. The polymerized reactive monomers are applicable as structural and industrial adhesives, medical and surgical adhesives and optical fiber coatings, and can be used in the manufacture of positive or negative photo or electron beam resists.

    摘要: A polymeric material which to form a stable, reproducible interface between the ionic and electronic domains of an ion selective sensor, or an ion selective field effect transistor, or the like is provided. When employed in an ion selective sensor, the polymeric material is advantageously provided over a solid internal reference electrode and an ion selective material is provided thereover. According to one embodiment, the polymeric material of the invention includes less than about 1.63.times.10.sup.21 immobilized charged sites per gram (less than about 2.72 millaequivalents/gram). According to another embodiment, the polymeric material includes immobilized sites of charge opposite that of mobile ions involved in the redox couple. A preferred polymeric material comprises a copolymer of methacrylamidopropyltrimethylammoniumchloride and methylmethacrylate.
