A hybrid powertrain includes a torque provider (18), an automatic transmission (88) without a torque converter, and a transfer case (26) configured for providing four wheel drive low range. A controller receives a signal indicative of the transfer case being in low range and determines if brake pedal torque is indicative of a brake pedal being released and, if so, commands engagement of a launch clutch (72) of the transmission up to maximum creep torque capacity at a predetermined maximum gradient. The controller determines when torque provider speed is synchronized with vehicle creep speed, and upon such determination, controls the launch clutch to fully engage to a lock up state to mimic behavior of engagement of a manual transmission gear when the hybrid powertrain is in low range to thereby substantially eliminate a time lag associated with automatic transmissions having a torque converter or a constantly slipping launch clutch.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Steuerung eines Kriechbetriebes eines Fahrzeugs mit einem Hybridantrieb (1, 1'), mit einem Parallelhybrid-Anthebsstrang (2, 2') umfassend einen Verbrennungsmotor (3), wenigstens eine Elektromaschine (5), ein zwischen dem Verbrennungsmotor (3) und der Elektromaschine (5) angeordnetes, als ein Reibelement ausgebildetes erstes Schaltelement (4), mittels dem der Verbrennungsmotor (3) mit der Elektromaschine (5) verbindbar ist, ein Getriebe (7), einen Abtrieb (26) und wenigstens ein zwischen der Elektromaschine (5) und dem Abtrieb (26) angeordnetes, als ein Reibelement ausgebildetes zweites Schaltelement (6), mittels dem die Elektromaschine (5) mit dem Abtrieb (26) wirkverbindbar ist. Um ein kostengünstiges, effektives und bauteilschonendes Dauerkriechen zu ermöglichen und dabei eine zuverlässige Verfügbarkeit von elektrischer Energie für elektrische Verbraucher des Fahrzeuges zu gewährleisten, wird der Kriechbetrieb abwechselnd durch einen mittels einem Betrieb wenigstens eines Schaltelementes (6, 27) im Schlupf erzeugten verbrennungsmotorischen Kriechmodus und durch einen mittels der Elektromaschine (5) zumindest unterstützten elektromotorischen Kriechmodus realisiert.
