Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for operating a segmented sliding overhead door (6). The door (6) slides in a pair of side tracks (4) mounted at either side of the door (6) between a closed vertical position (6A) and an open horizontal position (6B). A driver (1A) is mounted at the side-to-side center of the door (6) and extends away from an interior side (6C) of the door (6). The driver (1A) includes a screw drive shaft (17) mounted horizontally above the door (6). A motor (10) engages drive shaft (17) and provides reversible rotational drive force to the drive shaft (17). A drive shaft coupling unit (45) moves along the drive shaft (17) and guides the coupling unit (45) along the drive shaft (17). A door connecting rod assembly (5A) jams the door (6) against the floor when the door (6) is in the closed position (6A), and connects a carrier unit (40) to the door (6) for moving the door (6) along the side tracks (4). A safety release (61) may be included for releasing the connecting rod assembly (5A) from the door (6) so that the door (6) may be manually operated. The apparatus is particularly shock resistant.
Abstract:
A threaded drum is rotated by a drive shaft. As the threaded drum rotates, part of a cable is wrapped around the drum, while at the same time, a second part of the cable is unwrapped from the drum. Rotation of the drive shaft is based on rotation of an operator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for opening and closing a window aperture, the system comprising: a moveable window panel; a pulley assembly coupled to the moveable window panel; a counterweight; and a pulley actuation mechanism. The moveable panel is heavier than the counterweight, the latter being attached to a first lateral side of the moveable panel via a first part of the pulley assembly. The pulley actuation mechanism is attached to an opposite lateral side of the moveable panel via a second part of the pulley assembly. The pulley actuation mechanism is switchable between energised and non-energised states based on one or more trigger events, between a closing mode whereby the pulley actuation mechanism retracts the second part of the pulley assembly thus imparting an additional closing force to the moveable panel sufficient to raise the moveable panel; and an opening mode whereby the pulley actuation mechanism is non-energised such that a passive opening force is imparted to the moveable panel by virtue of its weight to lower the moveable panel. A system for controlling a window system based on aircraft detection is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a drive system (1) for the operation of a variety of motor operated garage doors (2) and the like. The drive system (1) comprises a motor (5) which drives a rotatable worm drive shaft (9) which mates with a lifting arm (10) connected to the door (2). The drive system (1) is able to be used for all types of garage doors (2) and is easy to install to existing doors as well as providing security for the door (2).

Abstract:
A garage door operator (10) is disclosed to have a front coupling (60) for a threaded screw (30) of the operator (10) and the rotor of the motor (20). The coupling (60) includes a first coupling device (62) that is a unitary coupling member with opposing recesses (68B, 68A) for receiving each of the rotor shaft (26F) and an end portion (74) of the screw (30). The unitary coupling member thereby connects the screw (30) to the motor (20) for torque transmission from the motor. The second coupling device includes a thrust containment device (92) that is supported on the screw (30), and an intermediate assembly (90) disposed between the thrust containment device and an end portion (44) of the guide rail (40) of the door operator. A retainer component (94) of the intermediate assembly restricts expansion of the thrust containment device.
Abstract:
A method of installation of remote controlled doors and especially overhead sectional doors to a doorway includes to following steps: (i) mounting a track member (9) to a doorway (8) on one side of the doorway and adjacent a top part of a doorway wherein said track member (9) extends into a building such as a garage which incorporates the doorway (8) substantially parallel with and spaced from the path (17) defined by movement of a door (10A) installed in said doorway (8) into said building, the track member incorporates a control member (10) movable along the track member (9) and wherein there is also provided drive means (18) for actuating movement of the control member (10); and (ii) connecting said door (10A) to said track member (9) by providing link means (7) and pivotally attaching the link means (7) to said door (10A) and also to said movable control member (10) whereby said door (10A) may open or close said doorway (8) by movement of the control member (10) upon remote controlled operation of said drive means (18).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a vertical opening and closing automatic glass panel system (10) of heavier and larger joinery systems for small and / or large size areas for use in spaces with remote control command which includes at least one top panel (11) suitable for positioning glass (50) and / or similar components, at least one bottom panel (13) fixed to the floor and / or outer profile 2 (19), optional intermediate panel (12) positioned as one or multiple to said bottom panel (13) and top panel (11), a double-sided electric motor (15) which generates power needed for movement, and a drive shaft (16) which transmits received force from motor (15) to the gearbox (14).
Abstract:
An operator device for moving the leaf of a swing gate, comprises an outer tubular body (10), a mobile stem (12) inserted telescopically in the outer tubular body (10) and a motor apparatus (14) able to move said mobile stem. In the outer tubular body (16) there is a longitudinal slot (24) at least near one end, engaged by a end-stroke element (30) comprising a stop element (32) inside the outer tubular body (10). The mobile stem (12) comprises a radial abutment boss (40) suitable to axially engage the stop element (32) so as to stop the mobile stem, the end- stroke element (30) being translatable along the longitudinal slot (24) so as to be fixed in a desired axial position to define a limit stop position of the operator device.
