The invention relates to an airflow vane shutter assembly for a motor vehicle (14). The shutter assembly includes a damper (16) configured to control the amount of intake air entering an engine compartment of the vehicle (14), the damper (16) providing an identification of the motor vehicle (14). In an alternative embodiment, the present invention relates to an airflow vane shutter assembly for a motor vehicle, the shutter assembly includes a damper (16) configured to control the amount of air entering an engine compartment of the vehicle. The assembly includes a sensor, the sensor receiving data input corresponding to temperature variable in combination with at least one or more of the following other variables: pressure, vehicle speed, transmission gear position, engine revolutions per minute, shift lever position, vehicle weight. The sensor then selects a position for the damper based upon the temperature variable in combination with one or more of the other input variables.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Brennkraftmaschine (1) mit einem mehrflutigen Abgasturbolader (11), wobei in jede Flut (8, 9) der Turbine (10) jeweils ein einer Gruppe (A, B) von Zylindern (2) zugeordneter Abgasstrang (6, 7) einmündet, mit zumindest einer Abgasrückführleitung (13) zwischen einem Abgasstrang (6) und einem Einlassstrang (5), wobei die Abgasrückführleitung (13) stromaufwärts der Turbine (10) des Abgasturboladers (11) von einem Abgasstrang (6) abzweigt und wobei stromaufwärts der Turbine (10) in zumindest einem Abgasstrang (6) eine Abgasstauklappe (16a, 16b) angeordnet ist. Um den Kraftstoffverbrauch zu vermindern und die Ladungswechselarbeit zu reduzieren, ist vorgesehen, dass die Fluten (8, 9) der Turbine (10) des Abgasturboladers (11) symmetrisch ausgebildet sind.

The present invention relates to an arrangement and a method for warming of coolant in a cooling system after a vehicle has been set in motion from cold. The arrangement comprises a control unit (22)adapted to assessing whether the coolant in the cooling system is at a lower temperature(T C ) than an operating temperature(T D ) and whether the air flowing through the coolant cooler(18) is at a temperature(T A1 , T A2 ) which is higher than the coolant's temperature(T C ), and, if these conditions are fulfilled, the control unit (22) is adapted to placing the valve means (17) in the second position so that the coolant is led to the coolant cooler(18), in which the coolant is warmed by the air flowing through the coolant cooler(18).

An object is to acquire a humidity of gas compressed by a compressor accurately, in a control system for an internal combustion engine that executes control concerning a water content in intake gas passing through an intercooler, based on an output signal from a humidity sensor. A humidity sensor is provided in an intake passage between a compressor and an intercooler. Therefore, a behavior of a humidity of gas that is compressed by the compressor and flows in the intake passage at an upstream side from the intercooler can be accurately grasped. The humidity sensor is desirably provided in the intake passage directly downstream from the compressor.

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine (1) having a multi-scroll exhaust gas turbocharger (11), wherein an exhaust line (6, 7) each associated with a group (A, B) of cylinders (2) leads into each pipe (8, 9) of the turbine (10), having at least one exhaust gas return line (13) between an exhaust line (6) and an inlet line (5), wherein the exhaust gas return line (13) branches off an exhaust line (6) upstream of the turbine (10) of the exhaust gas turbocharger (11), and wherein an exhaust gas vane (16a, 16b) is disposed upstream of the turbine (10) in at least one exhaust line (6). In order to reduce the fuel consumption and the charge-exchange work, the invention provides that the pipes (8, 9) of the turbine (10) of the exhaust gas turbocharger (11) are configured symmetrically.

L'invention a pour objet un procédé de protection contre le blocage des moyens de ventilation (10) d'un moteur à combustion interne (20, 22) d'un véhicule. Le procédé consiste à faire fonctionner les moyens de ventilation de façon périodique (48) lorsque les conditions climatiques (54, 58) indiquent un risque de blocage des moyens de ventilation, les modalités de fonctionnement desdits moyens comprenant la durée et la fréquence Tc de chaque période de fonctionnement et étant déterminées en fonction d'au moins un paramètre. L'invention s'applique tout particulièrement à l'industrie automobile.
