Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Getriebeeinrichtung für ein Kraftfahrzeug, wobei ein Fahrgang aus einer Fahrgangmenge (6, 7) ausgewählt und an einem Getriebe eingestellt wird und/oder bei Überschreiten einer Drehzahlobergrenze ein Fahrgang mit einer größeren Übersetzung und/oder bei Unterschreiten einer Drehzahluntergrenze ein Fahrgang mit einer kleineren Übersetzung aus der Fahrgangmenge (6, 7) ausgewählt und an dem Getriebe eingestellt wird. Dabei ist vorgesehen, dass in einer Normalbetriebsart die Fahrgangmenge (6, 7) einer Normalbetriebsfahrgangmenge (6), die eine Vielzahl von unterschiedlichen Fahrgängen umfasst, und/oder die Drehzahlobergrenze einer Normalbetriebsdrehzahlobergrenze und/oder die Drehzahluntergrenze einer Normalbetriebsdrehzahluntergrenze entspricht, und in einer Alternativbetriebsart die Fahrgangmenge (6, 7) einer Alternativbetriebsfahrgangmenge (7), die eine geringere Anzahl an unterschiedlichen Fahrgängen aufweist als die Normalbetriebsfahrgangmenge, und/oder die Drehzahlobergrenze einer von der Normalbetriebsdrehzahlobergrenze verschiedenen Alternativbetriebsdrehzahlobergrenze und/oder die Drehzahluntergrenze einer von der Normalbetriebsdrehzahluntergrenze verschiedenen Alternativbetriebsdrehzahluntergrenze entspricht. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin eine Getriebeeinrichtung für ein Kraftfahrzeug.

A system for operating a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission and a vehicle road speed limiter (RSL) which is programmable to limit the maximum vehicle speed for a given transmission gear includes at least on controller. The at least one controller is operable, when the speed limiter (RSL) is active, to determine if the vehicle is operating in a shuttle shifting range based on the current status of preselected operating parameters. When the vehicle is operating in a shuttle shifting range, the at least one controller is operable to control transmission operation to prevent shifting under conditions where shifting would otherwise normally occur.

A method for preventing shift hunting in a powertrain is disclosed. The powertrain includes an engine and a transmission having a variator, a first gearset, and a second gearset. The engine is operated at a first substantially constant speed. A first transmission shift condition is detected. A desired transmission output torque is determined. The transmission is operated at a transmission torque different than the desired torque as a function of the first shift condition.

The invention relates to a method and device for operating a dual clutch transmission connectable to an internal combustion engine provided in a vehicle, said method comprising the steps of: providing a control unit for managing at least the internal combustion engine and the transmission, providing a prediction model comprising at least one simulated shift sequence for said transmission, predicting the time (Δt) between a first power upshift/downshift and a second power upshift/downshift for said transmission by using said at least one prediction model, modifying at least one parameter for operating the transmission if the predicted time between said first power upshift/downshift and said second power upshift/downshift for said transmission is shorter than a predetermined time.

The invention relates to a method for controlling an automatic transmission for a motor vehicle which is equipped with cruise control. Said method is characterized in that the control of the transmission during cruise control passes into a separate driving programme, which depends on external influences, in particular the inclination of the carriageway. Said driving programme is updated according to the external influences. In the "set" position, the change to the separate driving programme is initiated and in the "restore" position, the transmission control can be adjusted in such a way that the separate driving programme is activated immediately, or only once the control position "set" has been reached.

The invention relates to a method for determining a shifting step (gear ratio) for a discretely shifting transmission of a motor vehicle on the basis of a registered output speed of the transmission and a predetermined optimum engine speed. According to the inventive method, calculated and/or measured input speeds (22, 23) of the transmission are registered for the shifting steps, and an engine speed (25, 26) is fixed for every shifting step via a hysteresis gear shift mechanism (24). An upshift threshold (10) is calculated from the difference between the input speed (22) of a next-higher shifting step and the engine speed (26), and a downshift threshold (12) is calculated from the sum of the actual input speed (23) and the engine speed (25). When the upshift threshold (10) exceeds the optimum engine speed (28), the transmission is shifted to a higher shifting step and when the optimum engine speed (28) exceeds the downshift threshold (12), the transmission is shifted to a lower shifting step (speed shift necessity (27)).
