Abstract: A switching control circuit for a DC high voltage battery, to be coupled to a multiphase electric motor for use in a heavy duty vehicle, the switching control unit comprising: a first power switching circuit section, called invertor, having at least two first DC high voltage input terminals connectable to the high voltage battery and controlled by a first invertor control unit, said first control unit arranged to control the first power switching circuit to provide a multiphase AC electric current, from the two first DC high voltage terminals to first multiple AC output terminals, each switched according to a respective AC phase, to be coupled to the electric motor, in order to drive the electric motor through a multiphase AC electric current; and a second power switching circuit section, called brake chopper, having at least two second DC high voltage input terminals connectable to the high voltage battery and controlled by a second invertor control unit, said second control unit arranged to control the second power switching circuit to provide a multiphase AC electric current, from the DC high voltage terminals to second multiple AC output terminals, to be coupled to a brake resistor unit.

Abstract: A battery assembly for a vehicle. The battery assembly being arranged between the vehicle and a trailer when the trailer is coupled to the vehicle. The battery assembly provided with a rear surface facing the trailer and a front surface opposite the rear surface. The rear surface provided with a recessed central portion and lateral flanking portions that extend further back towards the trailer relative to the recessed central portion. The rear surface accommodating a trailer swing arc such that the trailer swing arc does not pass through the lateral flanking portions whereby the battery assembly does not contact the trailer during trailer articulations. The battery assembly is sized to occupy a majority of a space between a front end of the trailer and a rear end of a body of the vehicle.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for controlling electrical energy transfer in a vehicle combination comprising at least a primary vehicle (20, 30) coupled to a secondary vehicle (30, 70) so as to form a coupled vehicle combination (10), the method comprising: receiving transportation mission data for the primary (20,30) and secondary (30.70) vehicle; determining a state-of-charge, SOC, value of the primary vehicle (20,30) and a SOC value of the secondary vehicle (30.70); determining an energy consumption for each one of the primary (20,30) and secondary (30,70) vehicles for completing at least one vehicle coupled driving segment; determining an energy consumption for each one of the primary (20,30) and secondary (30.70) vehicles for completing vehicle uncoupled driving segments; and on the basis of the determined SOC values and determined energy consumptions, providing an energy transfer schedule for the transportation mission.

Abstract: A materials handling vehicle including a vehicle-side charging contact assembly coupled to a battery, a steerable drive wheel defining a drive wheel track width W, and a pair of load wheels defining a load wheel gap G between the pair of load wheels that is larger than the drive wheel track width W. A charging station includes a pair of floor-side charging contacts configured to transfer charging current to the vehicle-side charging contact assembly. The pair of floor-side charging contacts define an inner contact spacing S1 that is larger than the drive wheel track width W, and an outer contact spacing S2 that is larger than the inner contact spacing S1 and smaller than the load wheel gap G to permit passage of the steerable drive wheel between the floor-side charging contacts, followed by passage of the pair of load wheels outside of the floor-side charging contacts.

Abstract: The invention relates to refrigeration units for cooling the interior of a trailer or vehicle, related software, systems and methods for deploying and managing such units. The unit (10) comprises a refrigerating system for mounting to the trailer or vehicle. The unit further comprises plural rechargeable batteries (22), and a battery rack (20), arranged to receive at least one rechargeable battery (22) so as to allow it to be swapped into and out of the rack to provide adaptive battery capacity. A power management system is arranged to receive DC power from the plural batteries and deliver power to a compressor of the refrigeration system. A controller is arranged to control the refrigeration system to cool the interior to a predetermined temperature.

Abstract: A battery assembly for an electric vehicle is provided that includes a housing, one or more battery units, and a mounting system. The one or more battery units are disposed within the housing. The mounting system is disposed adjacent to a top surface, e.g., on a planar top surface or within an upwardly oriented concavity. The mounting system has a frame member bracket and a housing bracket system. The housing bracket system includes a housing bracket, a load member and a vibration isolator. The housing bracket is configured to be coupled to the frame member bracket. The load member has a first portion disposed adjacent to an upper surface and a second portion disposed along a lateral portion of the housing. The vibration isolator is disposed between the load member and the housing bracket. The vibration isolator is configured to reduce load transmission from the frame member of the vehicle to the housing.
