The intrinsic stress profile biases a free portion (11) away from the substrate (14) forming a loop winding (142). An anchor portion (12) remains fixed to the substrate (14). The free portion end becomes a second anchor portion (61 c) which may be connected to the substrate (14) via soldering or plating. A series of individual coil structures (140) can be joined via their anchor portions to form inductors and transformers.

The present invention concerns improved methods and apparatus for forming undulated wire coils that are placed into the cores of dynamo electric machine components. In particular, the invention concerns improved methods and apparatus for controlling the direction of deposit (along the axis about which the coil is wound) for the turns of a wire coil and for positioning the leads of the coil. This is accomplished by forming a series of wire coils using a programmable apparatus that controls a sequence of directions (along the coil axis) in which the wire turns are deposited, as well as positions of the final leads. The same methods and apparatus may also be used to form continuously wound wire portions.

A first and second thermocouple are located in thermal contact with said nozzle, electrically independent of each other, so that said thermocouples may be operated simultaneously and alternatively. The present invention provides increased uniformity in the forming of coils wound onto a dynam-electric machine component core by providing an apparatus having a greater number of forming pushers in the same machine core space. The present invention adopts a space saving mechanism for radially driving and retracting the pushers. Two series of pushers are alternately arranged around a central axis. The first series of pushers is capable of being driven radially outwardly and being retracted radially inwardly by the actuation mechanism, while the second series of pushers is only capable of being driven radially outwardly by that mechanism. The first and second series of pushers are provided with overlapping protrusions and recesses, respectively, which enable the radially inward retraction of the first series of pushers to provide the same radially inward retraction for the second series of pushers.

The invention relates to a method for producing an electromagnetically excitable core for an electric machine. According to said method, in a first step (S1) a core (24) having a substantially parallelepipedal shape (20) with grooves (32) on one side which run parallel to each other, is provided. In a second method step (S2), a core winding (40) comprising its winding faces (36) is inserted into said grooves (32) and in a third method step (S3), the core (24) together with the core winding (40) is formed in an annular cylindrical mould (52) with grooves (32) which extend radially towards the interior. The method is characterised by an additional step, in which all the winding faces (36) that are respectively inserted into one groove (32) are pressed and formed in a groove mould (119) in a tool (44), before insertion into the groove (32). The invention also relates to a stator (150) produced according to said method and to an electric machine (140) comprising said stator (150).

An armature for a brush commutated electric motor having a distributed coil winding arrangement for reducing brush arcing and electro-magnetic interference (EMI). The winding pattern involves segmenting each coil into first and second subcoil portions with differing pluralities of turns. Each subcoil portion is wound around separate pairs of spaced apart slots of a lamination stack. Adjacent coils are wound such that one subcoil portion of each is wound in a common slot to therefore form an overlapping arrangement of each pair of adjacently coils. The winding pattern serves to "shift" the resultant magnetic axes of each coil in such a manner so as to significantly reduce brush arcing and the EMI resulting therefrom. The reduction in EMI is sufficient to eliminate the need for EMI reducing components, such as chokes, which have typically been required to maintain EMI to acceptably low levels. Commutation efficiency is also improved by the distributed winding pattern described above because of the reduction in the unevenness of the magnetic coupling between adjacent coils.

The method for producing inductive-type components, especially components of inductance coils, transformers or antennae, consists in micro-machining a plurality of first parts(1) that are joined to each other by connecting elements (2) or a connecting support on a first substrate that is made of a magnetic material; a printed multilayer plate (4,5) is inserted onto the arms (8a, 8b, 8c) of these first parts (1), whereby said plate has openings for the arms and metal windings that are terminated by at least two contact pads (7a, 7b); a second substrate made from a magnetic material is placed on top of and secured to the first substrate and the plate, whereby the second substrate is micro-machined prior thereto in order to obtain second parts (13) that are complementary to the first parts. The second parts are connected to each other by means of connecting elements or a connecting support. The components are then sorted and the contact pads on the lips (16,18) of the plate are folded against the base (9) of the core or the magnetic surface according to a special method of implementation in order to create a surface mounted device (SMD).

Therefore, the magnetic reluctance of the teeth (2) does not increase. In addition, a plurality of the magnetic strips (10) can be formed from a long and thin magnetic sheet (100). This increases the yield percentage of the magnetic strip (10) and reduces a manpower of manufacturing the magnetic strip (10). Further, the notches (21) make it easy to wind the magnetic strip (10) into a cylindrical core.
