Abstract:
Abstract:
A printed circuit board comprises, an insulating board (1) having side through holes (3) formed contiguous to divided end faces (2) of the board, land portions (5) formed of copper foil or the like on the surface of the insulating board (1), and conductors (4) of conductive materials formed respectively on the inner peripheral surfaces of the side through holes (3), wherein the land portions (5) are respectively conducted electrically with the conductors on the insulating board (1), and the land portions (5) have side ends (5a) positioned near and away from the divided end faces (2).
Abstract:
Laminar electrical devices, in particular circuit protection devices, contain two laminar electrodes, with a PTC element between them, and a cross-conductor which passes through the thickness of the device and contacts one only of the two electrodes. This permits connection to both electrodes from the same side of the device. It also makes it possible to carry out the steps for preparing such devices on an assembly which corresponds to a number of individual devices, with division of the assembly as the final step.
Abstract:
A circuit board (12) has electrical connector (10) mounted to an edge (18) thereof. The circuit board (12) includes an edge (18) and two major surfaces (14,16) extending therefrom having circuitry (20). Plated through holes (24) are arranged adjacent the edge and are interconnected to circuitry on the circuit board. Each plated through hole (24) is associated with an opening such as a slot (26) or partial slot (27) that is formed in the edge (18) of the board so that it intersects the hole. The posts (32) of the connector (10) extend into the openings (26,27) preferably in interference fit therewith whereafter soldering completes the electrical connections of the posts to the through holes.
Abstract:
A printed circuit board having holes provided with two or more electrical conductors (16,34) on the surface of each hole. The conductors are circumferentially spaced apart around each hole so as to electrically isolate them from one another and each conductor is connected to an individual circuit line of the board. The conductors may be through-hole conductors. Alternatively, the holes are pin receiving holes for insertion of pins having two or more conductor lines for electrical contact with the conductors within the holes.
Abstract:
In a circuit package (18) having a connector (1) for connecting a pin array circuit module (12) and a printed circuit board (17), the connector (1) is a molded plastic planar member (2) with a plurality of openings (5) extending through the member (2). In each opening (5), the member (2) has two integral and spaced first and second parts (7, 8) having respectively oppositely aligned faces (9, 10) for receiving therebetween one of the pins (11). At least one of the parts (7, 8) resiliently extends across the opening (5), and at least one of the faces (9, 10) is a contact surface which mates via contact protrusions (20) with a pin (11) of the module (12). A conductive layer (23) with a predetermined circuit pattern is disposed on the member (2) and includes conductors (13) which extend from the contact surface to terminals (14) disposed on the bottom surface (4) of the member (2). The terminals (14) are mateable with the input/output pads (15) of the board (17). The member (2) is disposed between the board (17) and the module (12) to provide the connection between the module (12) and the board (17) with the terminals (14) of the meber (2) and the pads (15) of the board (17) being in contacting relationship. The pins (11) of the module (12) are disposed in the openings (5) from the opposite surface (3) of the member (2) and each pin (11) is extended and engaged by and between the respective faces (9, 10) of the paired parts (7, 8) in the particular opening (5) in which the pin (11) is inserted.
