A printing process for printing an ink pattern on a substrate is provided. The ink pattern to be printed is based on an available pattern layout. The pattern layout is separated in into at least one discrete contour layer comprising at least one contour (C) part and at least one discrete inner region layer comprising at least one inner region (F) part. The contour part has an orientation in an imaginary plane including a first (X) and second (Y) axis. The first axis is defined with respect to the ink jet system as extending in a direction perpendicular to a direction of movement of a linear movable substrate positioning stage. The second axis is oriented perpendicular to the first axis. A contour part in the contour layer is printed by contour droplets prior to printing an inner region of the pattern layout by fill-in droplets.

High aspect ratio structures can be obtained by print-patterning masking features in feature stacks such that each feature has a lateral edge which is aligned in a plane roughly perpendicular to the plane of the substrate on which the features are formed. Due to the differential lateral spreading between features formed on a substrate and formed atop other features, the print head is indexed less than the radius of a droplet to a position where a droplet ejected by the print head forms an upper feature atop a lower feature such that the lateral edges of the upper and lower features are aligned in the plane roughly perpendicular to the plane of the substrate. Feature stacks of two or more features may provide a vertical (or re-entrant) sidewall mask for formation of high aspect ratio structures, by e.g., electroplating, etc.

Disclosed is a reel for winding photosensitive film (6) which stabilizes the winding shape of the film and minimizes the deformation of a photosensitive layer caused by the winding tension. The winding reel is easily carried and stored, and has a sufficient strength to stand against the winding tension of the wound photosensitive film. The user can check the amount of the wound photosensitive film. The winding reel has a cylindrical reel member (10) for winding the photosensitive film around a circumference thereof with a predetermined tension, and flange members (20, 30) detachably coupled to both sides of the reel member. The flange members (20, 30) have inner surfaces which are disposed in opposition to each other and are closed to both edges of the photosensitive film wound around the reel member. By the winding reel, it is possible to wind the photosensitive film around the reel member (10) with a proper tension. Since a width of the photosensitive film (6) is constantly maintained, the edge portion of the photosensitive film (6) is prevented from deforming. The reel member (10) is easily carried or stored. Since the flange members (20, 30) have plural windows (40, 42), it is possible to check the amount of the wound photosensitive film (6) with the naked eye, so it is very convenient to use the winding reel.
