Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition suitable for a front surface filter of a flat panel display (FPD) excellent in transparency, moist heat resistance, heat resistance and the like, particularly an adhesive composition excellent in penetrability into and clarification of a metal mesh used for an electromagnetic wave-insulating sheet (EMI sheet), and to provide an adhesive composition suitable for the bond between different kinds of materials of a plastic such as an epoxy resin or nylon reinforced with a carbon fiber or a glass fiber to a metal such as aluminum or iron. SOLUTION: The adhesive composition comprises an acrylic resin containing a recurring unit of glycidyl methacrylate, a recurring unit of a (4-12C)-alkyl methacrylate and a recurring unit of a β-hydroxy-(2-6C)-alkyl acrylate and having a number-average molecular weight of 3,000-200,000, an oxetane compound and a cationic polymerization initiator. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive for silicones, having excellent adhesiveness compared with conventional adhesives for silicones. SOLUTION: The adhesive for silicones contains a resin obtained by polymerizing an unsaturated monomer composition containing ≥70 wt.% ethylenic unsaturated monomer containing hydroxyl group and having a glass transition temperature of -40 to +60°C. The average number of the hydroxyl groups of the unsaturated monomer in the unsaturated monomer composition is preferably ≥5.0 mmol/g. The ethylenic unsaturated monomer containing hydroxyl group is preferably selected from hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate and hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous polymer dispersion which is quickly cured, after coated or applied to a substrate to be bound, has a high initial strength, and give the produced dried coating or adhered film having high water resistance and heat resistance. SOLUTION: This aqueous polymer dispersion comprises (a) at least one dispersion containing polyvinyl acetate and/or at least one polyvinyl acetate copolymer, and (b) at least one aqueous silicon dioxide dispersion containing SiO 2 particles having an average particle diameter of 1 to 400 nm. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encapsulated Michael addition catalyst. SOLUTION: An encapsulated catalyst develops unprecedented control on the pot-life and cure rate in a two-part or multi-component system in the presence of Michael donors and acceptors and enables the use as a one-component composition. Accordingly, it gives a composition useful as adhesives, sealants, coatings, elastomers, films and foams. Encapsulated catalyst prevents premature reaction of various reactants during storage and processing and yet, upon the rupture of the capsules by a predetermined event such as the application of heat, pressure, or solvation, produce rapid cure. Use of encapsulated catalysts gives unprecedented control on the pot-life and cure rate unattainable by conventional compositions. The use of encapsulated catalysts also results in the possibility for one-part Michael addition compositions previously not known. The use of encapsulated catalysts allows faster green strength development by a very rapid cure upon rupture of the capsules. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbodiimide-modified aromatic polymer adhesive by which the reduction of bonding force between a polar resin and an aromatic polymer is suppressed; and to provide a layered product comprising the polymer composition and having excellent interlaminar bonding force. SOLUTION: The adhesive (D) is obtained by reacting a polyolefin (A) having a group reactive with a carbodiimide group, with a carbodiimide group-containing compound (B). The multi-layered product is obtained by bonding the polar resin (F) with the aromatic polymer (G) and/or a polyolefin (H) through the adhesive (D), or two or more kinds of the polar resins (F) through the adhesive (D). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeymoon adhesive which has a moderate assembly time and inhibits fouling of a wood adherend caused by a strong acidic substance used as a curing catalyst. SOLUTION: The conventional problem can be solved by the aqueous honeymoon adhesive comprising a first liquid and a second liquid, wherein the first liquid comprises a resin emulsion containing a water-soluble polymer having an acetoacetyl group and the second liquid comprises a polyfunctional hydrazide and an amino acid.
