Abstract: Adhesives including a polyester at 20 to 50 weight percent, a first tackifier at 30 to 60 weight percent, and a first olefin-styrene block copolymer at 5 to 30 weight percent are described. The polyester has a glass transition temperature between −40° C. and −10° C., and the adhesive has a heat activation temperature between 20° C. and 100° C. Damping films including at least one layer of the adhesive and including a foamed layer are described. The foamed layer includes a second olefin-styrene block copolymer at 30 to 80 weight percent and a second tackifier at 15 to 60 weight percent.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a curable pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising: a) a butyl rubber component in an amount greater than 40 wt %; b) a tackifier in an amount greater than 1 wt %; c) a multifunctional crosslinking agent comprising at least two nitroso functional groups; and d) optionally, a hydrocarbon plasticizer; wherein the weight percentages are based on the total weight of the curable pressure sensitive adhesive composition. In another aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a method for protecting an electronic device or an electronic component from moisture and air permeation, wherein the method comprises the step of using a pressure sensitive adhesive composition as described above. According to still another aspect, the present disclosure is directed to the use of a pressure sensitive adhesive composition as described above for manufacturing an electronic device.

Typically, the first primer layer covers first portions of the first adherend adjacent to structural adhesive domains and does not cover second portions of the first adherend adjacent to pressure sensitive adhesive domains. Methods of making such articles are provided, which comprise applying a cure-initiating primer to first portions of the first adherend to form a first primer layer while leaving second portions of the first adherend bare of the first primer layer, and thereafter applying a curable adhesive film over the first primer layer, such that portions of the curable adhesive film are cured to form structural adhesive domains and other portions remain uncured pressure sensitive adhesive domains.

Abstract: An organic light emitting diode (OLED) cushioning film including a foamed layer is described. The foamed layer includes an olefin-styrene block copolymer at 30 to 80 weight percent and a tackifier at 15 to 60 weight percent. The tackifier has a softening point of at least 130° C. A light emitting article including an OLED layer laminated to the OLED cushioning film is described.

Abstract: An adhesive composition is described comprising a polyisobutylene polymer component; and up to 30 wt.-% of at least one aliphatic multifunctional component comprising at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups selected from (meth)acryl or vinyl ether. The monomer comprises a hydrocarbon moiety with greater than 12 contiguous carbon atoms. When the hydrocarbon moiety is branched, the hydrocarbon moiety comprises side chains with at least two carbon atoms. The aliphatic multifunctional component is sufficiently compatible such that crosslinked adhesive composition at a thickness of 20 microns has a haze of less than 3%. Also described are adhesive articles.
