Abstract: Automated driving systems intended for use in a vehicle can be simulated and validated using automatically generated simulation scenarios. A large number of simulation scenarios can be generated by augmenting a plurality of recorded scenarios with one or more extracted data streams. The extracted data streams can correspond to objects such as other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, or other obstacles or barriers. The extracted data streams can be generated automatically by identifying similar recorded scenarios and isolating differences between the similar recorded scenarios.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method of safely and automatically navigating in the presence of emergency vehicles. A first vehicle may receive, via communication hardware, a message indicating presence of the emergency vehicle. Such a message may originate from the emergency vehicle itself and/or from infrastructure such as a smart traffic light that can sense the presence of the emergency vehicle. The first vehicle may then determine the relative location of the emergency vehicle and automatically respond appropriately by determining a safe trajectory and navigating according to that trajectory until the emergency vehicle is out of range. In some examples, the first vehicle may detect the presence of an emergency vehicle using on-board sensors such as distance measuring sensors, depth sensors, and cameras, in addition to receiving a message via communication hardware.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system for vehicles that detects and gathers information about of a vehicle to determine a route that accounts for charging a vehicle. The system is configured to obtain remaining charge of a battery, identify present occupants of the vehicle, obtain characteristics of the occupants, identify charging stations located between present location of the vehicle and the specified destination, obtain characteristics of the charging stations, and determining a route for the vehicle to the specified destination based on the remaining charge of the battery, the characteristics of the present occupants, and the characteristics of the charging stations. The system can also determine routes without a specified destination. This includes alerting for low charge and providing range estimates so that the vehicle remains within range of a charging station.
