摘要:
A conductor member for an electric circuit includes a conductive plastic mold in which carbon fibers or graphite fibers are dispersedly contained, and a metallic layer at least partially plated on the surface of said conductive plastic mold. The conductor member is provided on the surface of an insulating substrate to provide an electric circuit body. Thus, the conductor member for an electric circuit and the electric circuit body can be easily formed in a three-dimensional circuit because of its simple fabrication and excellent processing. Further, the film of metal plating can be made at a high speed and is hard to break because of the intimate contact of the plated metal.

A composite sheet for electromagnetic wave shield is light and excellent in laying operability and in magnetic field shielding property. The composite sheet for electromagnetic wave shield comprises a metal foil and a conductive hot melt resin layer laminated on each other. It is specifically desired that the conductive hot melt resin layer is made of a material in which vapor phase growth carbon fibers of diameters of not more than 1.0 .mu.m and lengths of not more than 50 .mu.m are dispersed in a hot melt resin. The conductive hot melt resin layer may be preferably provided at least on a part of one side of the metal foil.

A method of producing electrically conductive composite. Powdery graphite intercalated compound is dry-mixed with powdery thermosetting plastics to produce a powdery mixture of composition, and then the powdery mixture is compressed, while being heated, to become an electrically conductive composite.

A metal plated carbon material containing at least one metal chloride compound disposed between graphite layers to form a graphite intercalation compound, and a metal plated layer being formed on a front surface of the metal plated carbon material. A method of producing the metal plated carbon material comprising the steps of immersing a graphite intercalation compound in an electroless plating solution for 6 to 30 hours, and forming a metal plated layer on a surface of the graphite intercalation compound with an excellent adherence thereto.

In a carbon thread, vapor phase growth carbon fiber (VGCF) are dispersedly contained in a carbon matrix. The carbon thread is produced by forming a thread-like element from a mixture of VGCF and carbonizable carbon-containing compound and then by heat-treating the thread-like element to effect carbonization thereon. The thread-like element may be formed either by melt-spinning or solution-spinning the mixture, or by impregnably adhering the mixture onto a thread of heat resisting fibers. The carbonized carbon thread thus obtained may be subjected to further heat treatment to graphitize the carbon thread.

A method of producing a circuit board includes the steps of: electroplating a mold surface of a mold so that a circuit body made of a metal plating layer is formed on the mold surface of the mold; pressing the mold against a board made of a thermoplastic resin; heating and retaining the mold so that the circuit body is bonded to the board under heat and pressure; and releasing the mold from the board after cooling the board to thereby transfer the circuit body to the board. The circuit board may be in the shape of box with the circuit body on the inner surfaces thereof.

Fluorinated graphite fibers comprising an intercalated compound of graphite fibers, having a three-dimensional crystal structure in which carbon hexagonal network faces are substantially in parallel with the axis of the fibers, and are oriented in a coaxial manner, and fluorine, wherein the length of repeating periods in the direction of the C-axis of the crystals coexist within a range from 5 to 24 .ANG.. The fluorinated carbon fibers are manufactured by graphitizing gas phase-grown carbon fibers obtained by thermally decomposing a hydrocarbon compound in a non-oxidative atmosphere in the presence of a catalyst supported on a substrate, or by bringing ultra-fine metal catalyst particles suspended in a high temperature zone into contact with a hydrocarbon compound, thereby obtaining graphite fibers having a three-dimensional crystal structure in which the carbon hexagonal network faces are substantially in parallel with the axis of the fibers and are oriented in a coaxial manner, and then bringing them into contact with fluorine.
