An inductive displacement transducer is proposed which serves to convert a mechanical movement into an electrical signal and in particular, in order to measure the fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine, the transducer ascertains the movement of an air flow rate meter disposed in the intake tube of the engine. The displacement transducer includes a core comprising two E-shaped sets of arms disposed symmetrically relative to one another, of which one set of arms serves as the measuring arm set, the middle arm of which is surrounded on one end by a measuring magnetic coil and on the other end by a measuring short-circuit ring connected with the air flow rate meter, and the other set of arms acts as a reference arm set, the middle arm of which is surrounded on one end by a reference magnetic coil and on the other end by a fixed reference short-circuit ring. The measuring short-circuit ring is connected with a leaf spring, which is secured on the air flow rate meter.

A pivoting member, especially the air flow rate meter of an internal combustion engine is disposed on a hub which surrounds a locally fixed shaft. Extending inwardly from the hub is a protrusion, for example a pin, which penetrates an opening in the wall of the shaft which is hollow at this point due to a blind bore extending axially into the shaft. The protrusion is held between two balls or rollers which are located in the blind bore and held in position by cooperation of a spring and an adjustment screw. The adjustment screw has a counter nut which bears on the end face of the shaft and also has gear teeth which engage a first set of threads of a pinion. The pinion has another set of threads of opposite and slightly different pitch so that rotation of the pinion causes differential rotation of the counter nut and permits very precise axial positioning of the hub which carries the pivoting member.

A sensor is disclosed for detecting the position of a movable part in a motor vehicle with a common drive for several position pickups and several paths. The individual paths are traversed at least partly consecutively over the total range so that a position signal with different resolution depending on the path can be made available. This is accomplished by means of individual paths corresponding to different places in the total range. The paths are in the form of resistance paths. The signals picked up can then be associated with electrically different paths for further processing. Paths having the same resolution are also possible.

A fuel injection system which serves to supply fuel to an internal combustion engine. The fuel injection system includes a metering and quantity distribution valve with regulating valves connected at the output side, which valves can be influenced by the fuel pressure in a differential pressure control line. Communicating with a fuel supply line is a fuel reservoir, which has a flexible diaphragm which is displaceable by the fuel pressure counter to a reservoir spring in a spring chamber. Shortly before the end of the movement of the flexible diaphragm into the spring chamber, a spring plate resting on the flexible diaphragm opens a sealing valve via a stem. The sealing valve rests on the mouth of an outflow line, which leads via a control throttle to the differential pressure control line. A pressure maintenance valve is likewise disposed upstream of the sealing valve, and a line from a pressure limitation valve and a leakage line from the metering and quantity distribution valve discharge between the pressure maintenance valve and the sealing valve. The spring chamber of the fuel reservoir communicates via a return flow line with the fuel container.

Simultaneously with the opening of the electromagnetic valve, the electrical circuit of the starter motor is closed, so that after the preceding filling with fuel of all the lines and assemblies of the fuel injection system with fuel, a more certain start of the engine is assured.

The apparatus includes a lever, which is joined to a shaft of the throttle device and has both a stop screw arranged to cooperate with a stop and an adjusting screw arranged to cooperate with a feeler pin. The feeler pin traces the position of a control body provided with a cam track and the control body can be displaced to a variable extent in a guide bore by means of an expansion element and thereby bring about a variably large rotation of the throttle device and hence a variably large opening of the cross section for the aspirated air during engine idling in the warm-up phase.

The control slit is arranged in a guide sleeve and the control groove is arranged in a rotatable sleeve mounted in the guide sleeve with the rotatable sleeve being arbitrarily shifted relative to the guide sleeve. A connecting tube is arranged between the rotatable sleeve and the mounting axis of the air metering device, by means of which the metered fuel can be fed to a nozzle arranged on the air flow rate meter. For a better mixture spreading effect, air can be fed to the metered fuel through a filter composed of a fine-meshed web.

An actuating device is proposed which is used to adjust a throttle valve disposed in the intake tube of an internal combustion engine. The actuating device includes a gas pedal adapted to engage an actuating lever, which is supported rotatably relative to a throttle valve shaft, so as to pivot counter to the force of a restoring spring. Connected to the actuating lever is a follow-up drawing spring, which is secured with one end to an intermediate lever provided with a cam disk having a curved camming surface which surface a lever arm is supported so as to operate a damper element. The intermediate lever is rotatably supported with respect to the throttle valve shaft and with a coupling stop engages a throttle valve lever, which is connected to the throttle valve shaft such that relative rotation between them is prevented. The throttle valve lever is drawn against the coupling stop by means of an uncoupling spring disposed between the intermediate lever and the throttle valve lever. An idling actuator also engages the throttle valve lever. When the actuating lever is actuated in the clockwise direction, the intermediate lever is drawn in a damped follow-up manner by the follow-up drawing spring to adjust the throttle valve via the throttle valve lever.
