    Abstract: A sensor includes a reception antenna, a parasitic antenna terminating in a variable load, a controller, a transmitter transmitting a transmission signal, a receiver, a memory, and a processor. The controller sets an impedance value of the variable load. The receiver receives a first signal formed of signals received by the antennas and derived from the transmission signal, and the signal received by the parasitic antenna corresponding to the impedance value. The memory stores a first signal strength value of the first signal corresponding to the impedance value. The processor sets candidates of a complex propagation channel, calculates second signal strength values of a second signal respectively corresponding to the candidates, estimates a target complex propagation channel by selecting a candidate corresponding to a minimum difference among differences between the first signal strength value and the second signal strength values, and estimates a direction of arrival of the first signal.

    Abstract: A sensor includes a transmit antenna, a receive antenna, circuitry, and a memory. The transmit antenna includes N transmit antenna elements each transmitting a transmit signal. The receive antenna includes M receive antenna elements each receiving N receive signals including reflection signals reflected by an organism. The circuitry extracts a second matrix corresponding to a predetermined frequency range from an N×M first matrix representing propagation characteristics between each transmit antenna element and each receive antenna element calculated from the receive signals. The circuitry estimates the position of the organism by using the second matrix, and calculates a radar cross-section value with respect to the organism, based on the estimated position and the positions of the transmit antenna and the receive antenna. The circuitry then estimates the posture of the organism by using the calculated radar cross-section value and information indicating associations between radar cross-section values and postures of the organism.

    Abstract: A sensor includes at least one transmitting station including a transmission antenna; a plurality of receiving stations each including a reception array antenna; a first circuit that extracts, from signals observed by the reception array antenna of each of the plurality of receiving stations, living-body components, which are signal components transmitted from the transmission antenna and reflected by at least one living body; a second circuit that calculates, from the extracted living-body components, a plurality of position spectral functions, which are evaluation functions for evaluating a position of the at least one living body when viewed from the plurality of respective receiving stations; and a third circuit that integrates the plurality of calculated position spectral functions into one position spectral function, and calculates at least one maximum value of the position spectral function obtained as a result of integration to estimate the position of the at least one living body.

    Abstract: A device that differentiates a living body includes at least one transmission antenna element that transmits a transmission signal to a predetermined range including the living body, N receivers that are arranged to surround a periphery of the predetermined range and each receive N reception signals using respective reception antenna elements of the receivers during a predetermined period, the N reception signals including a reflection signal resulting from the transmission signal reflected off the living body, memory that stores a teacher signal, a circuit that calculates a plurality of correlation coefficients according to the teacher signal and the N reception signals received by the N receivers and determines that the living body and the subject living body are identical to each other when a predetermined correlation coefficient included in the plurality of correlation coefficients is included in a predetermined value range.
