摘要: A rotatable microfluidic device that comprises a hydrophilic microchannel structure in which there is a) an upstream microcavity I with a liquid outlet I, b) a microconduit I connected to liquid outlet I, and c) a capillary valve I associated with microconduit I. The inlet end of the microconduit is closer to the spin axis than the outlet end of the microconduit. The difference in radial distance between the inlet end and the outlet end of microconduit I is typically ≧5%, such as ≧10% or ≧100% or ≧500%, of the difference in radial distance between the uppermost part of the upstream microcavity and liquid outlet I.

摘要: A microfluidic device comprising a hydrophilic microchannel structure in which there is a functional unit that comprises a microconduit which a) is intended for the transportation of liquid aliquots, and b) has an inlet end and an outlet end between which there is a capillary valve I, which preferably is based on the presence of a local non-wettable surface area. Microconduit I further comprises one or more additional capillary valves, typically one. At least one of the additional valves is upstream of capillary valve I, such as at the inlet end of the microconduit.

摘要: A method for dispensing droplets of a liquid to a microsystem in the form of a disc comprising a target area (TA0I) in its surface, said disc preferably being a microfluidic disc comprising a microchannel structure with an inlet port that is a target area (TA0I). The method is characterized by comprising the steps of: i) providing (1) said disc which has a triggering mark, and (2) a dispenser arrangement comprising: a) a spinner for rotating the disc around its axis, b) a drop dispenser permitting dispensation of droplets to inlet port I, c) a fixed trigger position outside the disc, and d) a controller which is capable of triggering the dispensation of a droplet into (TA0I) as a function of the triggering mark passing the trigger position, ii) placing the disc in the spinner and programming the controller with values for dispensing parameters that will give dispensation of the droplets to TA0I, iii) dispensing the droplets. The invention also comprises the dispenser arrangement as such.

The apparatus is characterized by comprising A) a first main flow line FL1 (1) intended for a first pressurized fluid F1 and encompassing in its downstream part (dFL1) (38) one, or more dFL1 sub-lines (1a,b,c), where a) every dFL1 subline • comprises one or two serially linked flow-through dispensers for F1 (5a,b,c. and 6a, b, c) and • is functionally equal to the other dFL1 sublines, and b) each of the dispensers • has an inlet (7a,b,c. and 8a,b,c, respectively) and an outlet (9a,b,c. and 1 Oa,b,c . . . , respectively) for flow, and • is functionally equal with the corresponding dispensers in the other dFL1 sublines, and B) a particle formation arrangement (4) comprising a) one or more flow-through particle formation chambers (3a,b,c . . . ), and b) the downstream dispensers (5a,b,c.) of said one or two dispensers (5a,b,c . . . ,6a,b,c.) with one, two or more dispensers per chamber, at least one of the one or two dispensers (5a,b,c . . . ,6a,b,c.) is an injector which is capable of being repeatedly activated enabling a pulsed flow through the outlet of the injector.
