Abstract:
An ultrasonically vibrated die comprises a generally cylindrical die ring supported by a coaxial resonant mounting tube. The die ring is vibrated in a radial bending mode of vibration, in which an end surface of the die ring oscillates between a concave and a convex state. The mounting tube joins the end surface of the die ring at a radius R where the amplitude of the oscillation of the end surface is at a minimum, in order to reduce transmission of the vibration into the mounting tube.

A device 10 for drawing a tubular workpiece is provided with a drawing die 20 and a drawing plug 30. The drawing die 20 includes a first curved surface section 1C from which the workpiece 40 is detached while being reduced in diameter, a die bearing section 2B arranged radially inward of and downstream of a workpiece separation point K of the first curved surface section 1C, and a guide section 2D having a second curved surface section 2C which smoothly continues to an upstream end of the die bearing section 2B and configured to again come into contact with the workpiece 40 detached from the first curved bearing section 1C to guide the workpiece to the die bearing section 2B while reducing a diameter of the workpiece 40. The drawing plug 30 has a plug bearing section 3B shorter than a length L4 of the die bearing section 2B. The plug bearing section 3B is arranged at a position corresponding to the die bearing section 2B.

Abstract:
Bonding wires for sophisticated bonding applications may be efficiently formed on the basis of a corresponding template device that may be formed on the basis of semiconductor material, such as silicon, in combination with associated fabrication techniques, such as lithography and etch techniques. Hence, any appropriate diameter and cross-sectional shape may be obtained with a high degree of accuracy and reliability.

Abstract:
An exemplary embodiment of the invention provides a method for producing an ultra thin wall metallic tube by cold working method with significant wall thickness reduction. In a method for producing the metallic tube with a cold pilger mill according to the invention, cold rolling is performed while tube diameters are being expanded using rolls having tapered groove dies whose calibers increase from an engaging entry side toward a finishing exit side. In a method for producing the metallic tube with a drawing machine according to the invention, cold drawing is performed while the tube diameters are being expanded using a solid die whose calibers increase from an engaging entry side toward a finishing exit side and a plug of a tapered mandrel bar whose diameters increase from an entry side of the die toward an exit side. In the metallic tube producing method, a maximum diameter of the plug or tapered mandrel bar may be larger than an outside diameter of the mother tube.
Abstract:
In an improved process for drawing metal wires and a tool for actuating the process, a metal wire is coated with a thin surface layer of lubricant and subsequently drawn, gradually in a series of single drawing operations. In a final of the drawing operations, the wire is forced to pass through a hole which exhibits an angle of convergence comprised between 30 degrees and about 85 degrees. As the wire passes through the hole, the layer of lubricant is removed and the drawn wire exiting from the hole is clean and lubricant-free.

There is provided an ornamental chain of the nullOmeganull type used for the production of necklaces, bracelets and other articles of jewelry. This chain has two faces having different colors and/or different workmanship corresponding to the two faces. The chain may be worn showing one or the other face. The disclosure also covers the process of production of the chain.
Abstract:
The present invention is addressed to improving a blank for a wire drawing die formed from an annular cemented metal carbide support component having a lengthwise extent from an entrance end to an exit end and extending radially about a central longitudinal axis to define a cylindrical internal bore through the lengthwise extent, and a cylindrical sintered polycrystalline compact component received within the bore of the support component and bonded thereto at an interface surface extending a radial distance from and along the longitudinal axis from a wire drawing entrance end to a wire drawing exit end. The compact component is adapted to receive an aperture extending through its lengthwise extent about the central longitudinal axis and is configured with an entrance zone at the die entrance end which tapers inwardly therefrom to a reduction zone whereat a wire to be drawn through the aperture makes initial contact with the compact component, and thence to a bearing zone and an exit zone. The improvement in such wire drawing die blank revolves the radial distance from said central longitudinal axis to said interface surface tapers inwardly from the entrance end to a minimum prior to the bearing zone after which said radial distance remains substantially constant to said exit end. The corresponding wire drawing die and the method for producing the inventive wire drawing blank also form additional aspects of the present invention.
