摘要: An apparatus for automatically transferring workpieces which apparatus includes a longer arm of which one end is adapted to be reciprocally moved in the lengthwise direction of the apparatus while the other end is reciprocated in the normal direction, the one end carrying a carriage for workpieces and the other end being guided only in an end portion remote from the path of the one end by a guide, and a pair of shorter arms disposed on opposite sides of and half as long as the longer arm. One end of each shorter arm is pivotally mounted at the center of the length of the longer arm and the other end of each shorter arm is pivotally mounted at a position at the same level as the path of the one end of the longer arm. The shorter arms are adapted to swing through an arc of about 180.degree. from one direction of the path to the opposite direction of the same by a crank mechanism and through a transmission, to thereby effect a highly smooth movement at starting and at stoppage of the carriage as well as an accurate positioning thereof.

摘要: In a lighting apparatus containing a high pressure discharge lamp, an alternating current supplied to the discharge lamp at the time of steady lighting of the frequency (basic frequency) selected from a range between 60 and 1000 Hz and a low frequency having a frequency selected from a range between 5 and 200 Hz lower than the basic frequency is generated alternately. The frequency of the low frequency wave is changed in response to the change of the lighting voltage of the discharge lamp. The supply period of the basic frequency is increased and decreased little by little by every predetermined time.

摘要: A diagnosing operation controlling portion compares the magnitude of change of a control instruction value that controls the dislocation of a valve stem to a reference value that has been set in advance, and stops the malfunction evaluation operation in a diagnosing portion if the magnitude of change per unit time in the control instruction value exceeds a reference value. If the magnitude of change per unit time in the control instruction value exceeds the reference value, then the evaluation may be the same as for a case wherein a stick-slip has occurred, even if the operation is functioning properly. In contrast, it is possible to prevent incorrect stick-slip evaluations by stopping the operation of the diagnosing portion when the magnitude of change per unit time in the control instruction value exceeds a reference value.

摘要: A document feeding and reading unit and an image forming apparatus capable of reducing errors in magnification copying when the change in the diameter of drive motors results from heating. The document feeding and reading unit reads a document image while transporting a document sheet. At least one transport mechanism, including at least one drive roller and driven roller brought into slidable contact with a drive roller, transports the document sheet while holding the document between the drive roller and the driven roller. A detector measures the temperature at a location of the document feeding and reading unit. A controller controls the rotation speed of the drive roller based on temperature information acquired by the temperature detector. The document feeding and reading unit can be suitably incorporated into an image forming apparatus.
