    Abstract: A system within an ego vehicle for robust association of a physical identity and a virtual identity of a target vehicle includes a data processor, including a wireless communication module and a visible light communication module, positioned within an ego vehicle, and a plurality of perception sensors, positioned within the ego vehicle and adapted to collect data related to a physical identity of the target vehicle and to communicate the data related to the physical identity of the target vehicle to the data processor via a communication bus, the data processor within the ego vehicle adapted to receive, via a wireless communication channel, data related to a virtual identity of the target vehicle, associate the physical identity of the target vehicle with the virtual identity of the target vehicle, and initiate, via the wireless communication channel and a visible light communication channel, a challenge-response protocol between the ego vehicle and the target vehicle.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for interpreting traffic information. A method includes: receiving, by a processor, visual data from vehicles, wherein the visual data is associated with an intersection of a roadway having one or more lanes; receiving, by the processor, vehicle data from the vehicles, wherein the vehicle data is associated with the intersection of the roadway; determining, by the processor, a first state of a traffic light associated with the intersection based on the visual data; determining, by the processor, a second state of the traffic light associated with the intersection based on the vehicle data; correlating, by the processor, the first state and the second state based on a time synchronization; assigning, by the processor, the traffic light to a lane of the roadway based on the correlating; and communicating, by the processor, the traffic light to lane assignment for use in controlling a vehicle.

    Abstract: A system according to the present disclosure includes an actuator control module and a damping ratio module. The actuator control module is configured to control an actuator of a vehicle to cause the vehicle to perform a yaw maneuver by rotating about its yaw axis. The damping ratio module is configured to determine a damping ratio based on an operating parameter measured during the yaw maneuver. The operating parameter includes at least one of a yaw rate of the vehicle, a yaw rate of a trailer connected to the vehicle, a lateral acceleration of the vehicle, a lateral acceleration of the trailer, a heading angle of the vehicle, and a hitch angle between a longitudinal axis of the vehicle and a longitudinal axis of the trailer.

    Abstract: A process for correcting longitudinal roll from an offset load using active roll control within a vehicle is provided. The process includes, within a computerized controller using axle-based control to control a suspension system, operating programming to control pneumatic pressure supplied to each of a plurality of air spring devices within the suspension system to execute a vehicle leveling event including one of adjusting a height of the vehicle or maintaining the height of the vehicle. The process further includes operating programming to, simultaneously with the controlling the pneumatic pressure, utilize a plurality of active sway bars to provide an offset torque to the vehicle body. Each of the plurality of active sway bars is associated with one of a plurality of axles. Providing the offset torque is based upon a number of moles of air in each of the plurality of air spring devices and reducing the longitudinal roll.

    Abstract: Systems and methods to perform traffic signal management for operation of autonomous vehicles involve obtaining vehicle data from two or more vehicles at an intersection with one or more traffic lights. The vehicle data includes vehicle location, vehicle speed, and image information or images. A method includes determining at least one of three types of information about the one or more traffic lights based on the vehicle data. The three types of information include a location of the one or more traffic lights, a signal phase and timing (SPaT) of the one or more traffic lights, and a lane correspondence of the one or more traffic lights. The method also includes providing the at least one of the three types of information about the one or more traffic lights for the operation of autonomous vehicles.

    Abstract: A system and method for determining a frequency response of a power steering system is disclosed including a steering assist motor configured to generate an assist torque about an axis of a steering shaft when activated. The method includes monitoring, by a controller, a torque transducer that measures a steering output torque of the steering shaft experienced during a first frequency sweep and a second frequency sweep. The method also includes determining, by the controller, a transfer function based on the steering output torque monitored during the first frequency sweep and the second frequency sweep, where the transfer function indicates the response by the power steering system.
