Abstract: A user terminal includes a controller that performs selection of an access network in which the user terminal exchanges traffic from among a cellular RAN (Radio Access Network) and a WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network). The controller stores a RAN rule for determining traffic steering to a WLAN having a RAN provided identifier (ID), receives a WLAN ID broadcasted from a cellular base station (BS), applies the WLAN ID to the RAN rule to determine whether to perform traffic steering, roaming from the RAN to another RAN, determines whether to acquire another WLAN ID provided by the other RAN based on a policy established by the RAN, receives the other WLAN ID from a second BS of the other RAN, and applies the other WLAN ID to the RAN rule to determine whether to perform traffic steering to the WLAN having the other WLAN ID, in the second cellular RAN.

Abstract: A user terminal receives, from a base station, a measurement request for measurement of a reception intensity of a signal transmitted from another user terminal that performs D2D communication, and a threshold value used to determine whether to transmit measurement information related to the reception intensity. The user terminal measures reception intensity of the signal on the basis of the measurement request, and transmits to the base station, the measurement information enabling the base station to perform controls of the D2D communication in response to the measurement information satisfying the threshold value. The user terminal receives from the base station a location request for transmission of location information indicating geographical location of the user terminal. In response to the location request, the user terminal transmits the location information periodically to the base station, the location information enabling the base station to perform controls of the D2D communication.

Abstract: A user terminal according to one aspect executes a first and second DRX operations. The first DRX operation is an operation of discontinuously monitoring first control information, which is transmitted from the base station via PDCCH, using a C-RNTI that uniquely identifies the user terminal in a cell of the base station. The second DRX operation is an operation of discontinuously monitoring second control information, which is transmitted from the base station via the PDCCH, using a group RNTI assigned to a terminal group including the user terminal. The user terminal monitors the first control information in a first ON duration for the first DRX operation, and monitors the second control information in a second ON duration for the second DRX operation, the second ON duration being independent of the first ON duration.

Abstract: A mobile terminal is used in a mobile communication system including a general cell supporting a broadcast distribution of MBMS data and a specific cell not supporting a broadcast distribution of MBMS data. The mobile terminal has a controller that executes an autonomous search that searches for a specific cell to which the mobile terminal is allowed to connect. In an idle state, the controller halts the autonomous search when the user terminal receives the MBMS data from the general cell.
