摘要: A watermarking system allowing both sufficiently high quality of watermarked moving pictures and enhanced ease of watermark detection is disclosed. A watermark level of a watermark to be embedded into a picture of data is changed depending on the picture type of a selected block of frequency component data, and then a watermark having the watermark level is inserted into the selected block of frequency component data. Therefore, a moving-picture can be effectively embedded with a digital watermark without substantially reducing the quality of image and the digital watermark can be detected reliably. A relative proportion of watermark levels of I-picture, B-picture, and P-picture is preferably set to 10:7:5.

摘要: An optical parallel transmission receiver in which a plurality of light-receiving elements and a plurality of optical fibers are optically coupled via guide pins (1) includes a pair of guide pins (1), a fiber holding means (2) for holding the pair of guide pins in parallel and holding the plurality of optical fibers between the pair of guide pins (1) at a predetermined interval, and a light-receiving element holding means for holding the plurality of light-receiving elements between the pair of guide pins (1) and holding one end of each of the pair of guide pins (1) so as to make a plane including light-receiving surfaces of the light-receiving elements perpendicular to longitudinal axes of the guide pins (1). The fiber holding means (2) and light-receiving element holding means (3) are integrally held by resin molding.

摘要: An optical fiber grating is manufactured by heating intermittently an optical fiber, provided with a core having residual stress in the longitudinal direction, softening a peripheral cladding of the core, and forming spatial periodical changes for the relative refractive index-difference between the core and the cladding, in the longitudinal direction of the aforementioned optical fiber by having the index of refraction of the core change, through the releasing of the aforementioned residual stress. As a result, an optical fiber grating and the manufacturing method thereof, which do not require expensive equipment and which exhibit high productivity, and furthermore a grating characteristic which is stable over time can be provided.

摘要: The camera includes a strobe device, a distance-measuring device and a heat insulating section. The strobe device has a light source for irradiating light onto an object at the time of photographing. The distance-measuring device measures the distance to the object. The heat insulating section is provided between the strobe device and the distance-measuring device, so as to prevent the heat generated by the strobe device from being transmitted to the distance-measuring device.

摘要: A camera consists of a lens barrel unit, a spool chamber unit, a Patrone chamber unit, and a substantially plate-like linking member. The linking member has a photographic aperture, and guide rails for restricting the position of a film relative to the photographic aperture. The linking member links the spool chamber unit and Patrone chamber unit. A picture size switching mechanism realizing a picture size switching function for partly blocking the photographic aperture is mounted on the linking member. The camera further includes a viewfinder picture size switching mechanism for switching viewfinder picture sizes, and a switching control unit for controlling the photographic picture size switching mechanism and viewfinder picture size switching mechanism so that a photographic picture zone and viewfinder picture zone will be set to the same picture size. After the viewfinder picture zone is switched from a large picture size to a small picture size, the photographic picture zone is wider than a field of view defined as the viewfinder picture zone.

摘要: A variable-length coding device for compressing video data includes a variable-length code memory, which stores predefined and pre-shifted variations of variable-length codes in entries thereof. Each entry also has two counter fields, one for indicating the number of combined data bytes to be written to a compressed data memory, and another for indicating the number of valid bits remaining in the final byte written to the compressed data memory. The variable-length coding device does not require shifting of variable-length codes at storage time, and realizes an increase in efficiency.
