摘要: The present invention relates to formulations, methods and devices for delivering one or more biologically active agents, particularly a diagnostic or therapeutic agent to the intradermal compartment of a subject's skin. The present invention provides an improved method of delivery of biologically active agents in that it provides among other benefits, rapid uptake into the local lymphatics, improved targeting to a particular tissue, improved bioavailability, improved tissue bioavailability, improved tissue specific kinetics, improved deposition of a pre-selected volume of the agent to be administered. This invention provides methods for rapid transport of agents through lymphatic vasculature accessed by intradermal delivery of the agent. Methods of the invention are particularly useful for delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic agents. The invention relates to the synergy gained in diagnosing and treating disease when intradermal delivery and controlled release materials are combined. Specifically, the synergy is achieved when intradermal delivery is combined with lipid based particles.

摘要: The present invention relates to dermal vaccine formulations, designed for targeted delivery of an immunogenic composition to a dermal compartment of skin including the intradermal and epidermal compartments. The dermal vaccine formulations of the invention comprise an antigenic or immunogenic agent, and at least one molecule, e.g., a chemical agent, which enhances the presentation and/or availability of the antigenic or immunogenic agent to the immune cells of the intradermal compartment or epidermal compartment resulting in an enhanced immune response. The dermal vaccine formulations of the invention have enhanced efficacy as the antigenic or immunogenic agent is delivered to the intradermal compartment or epidermal compartment with enhanced presentation and/or availability to the immune cells that reside therein. The enhanced efficacy of the dermal vaccine formulations results in a therapeutically effective immune response after a single intradermal or epidermal dose, with lower doses of antigenic or immunogenic agent than conventionally used, and without the need for booster immunizations.

摘要: A method for assessing the integrity of a structure, comprising the steps of: i) collecting data relating to the initial dimensions of the structure, ii) creating a computer model of the structure, iii) collecting data relating to the estimated load on the structure, iv) analysing the structure, using the computer model of the structure and the load data, in order to define areas which are subject to relatively high stress, v) measuring, after a time interval, the dimensions of the structure in high stress areas, vi) updating the computer model of the structure, using the results of step v), re-analysing the structure, using the updated computer model and the load data, in order to calculate a value for the integrity of the structure.

摘要: An electric motor and method for reducing or eliminating end play. The motor comprises an adjustment member that cooperates with an end lamina member to facilitate reducing end play. The adjustment member is slidably mounted on an armature shaft and inside an aperture of a portion of the end lamina tube to reduce or eliminate end play. Thereafter, the adjustment member is permanently secured to the end lamina tube. In another illustrative embodiment, the movable bearing retainer sets endplay and also retains brushes in an open position prior to, for example, assembly of the motor.
