    摘要： A surgical fastener applier having a handle and a fastener housing extending from the handle. The housing contains a plurality of surgical fasteners. The surgical fasteners have a base, and two legs extending away from the base, wherein the legs have distal end segments. The fastener has a first shape wherein the distal end segments bend towards each other so that they are adjacent and form the fastener into a first loop. The fastener has a second shape wherein the distal end segments are spaced apart from each other along substantially an entire length thereof. The fastener also has a third shape wherein the distal end segments bend towards each other in so that they are adjacent and form the fastener into a second loop wherein the second loop having a width greater than a width of the first loop. The applier includes a means for forming the fastener into the second and third shapes.

    摘要： A tissue conveyor includes a conveyor body having a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end includes a handle allowing for operator control of an end effector located at the distal end. The end effector includes a grasper assembly composed of a first jaw bar and a second jaw bar connected by a support base to define a cavity into which tissue is drawn. A first conveyor member is positioned upon the first jaw bar for movement along an internal surface of the first jaw bar and a second conveyor member is positioned upon the second jaw bar for movement along an internal surface of the second jaw bar. The method for creating a tissue fold includes positioning a tissue conveyor adjacent tissue, pushing the respective first jaw bar and the second jaw bar into the tissue in the area where a fold is desired, and pulling the first conveyor member and the second conveyor member proximally to draw the first and second conveyor members and tissue into a cavity defined by the first jaw bar and the second jaw bar to create a tissue fold.

    摘要： A surgical stapling device for deploying staples connected with suture to tissue includes a handle having a staple actuator mechanism, a tubular support shaft having a longitudinal axis and extending from the handle, and a staple cartridge mounted on the support shaft and connected to the staple actuator mechanism for applying one or more staples to the tissue. The cartridge has a cartridge housing adapted to receive a plurality of staples in a row for longitudinal movement therethrough and an anvil mounted on the housing. The cartridge further includes a mechanism for advancing the forwardmost staple in the row into engagement with the anvil, and a suture guide supporting a length of suture that extends in a loop for attachment to the staples as they are secured to the tissue.
