摘要: A method involves puncturing a blood vessel of a patient with the sharp needle point of an inner needle, axially advancing a guide wire operating member connected to a guide wire to axially advance the guide wire relative to the inner needle to move the guide wire along the blood vessel, and axially advancing a catheter operating member connected to a catheter to axially advance the catheter in the distal direction relative to both the inner needle and the guide wire such that the distal end of the catheter is positioned at a target position in the blood vessel.

摘要: A system for dilating a Eustachian tube (ET) of a patient includes a guide member and a dilation catheter. The guide member includes a bent distal portion that is configured to provide access to an opening in the ET. The dilation catheter is slidable relative to the guide member. The dilation catheter includes a shaft, an expandable element, and an actuator. The expandable element is disposed at the distal portion of the shaft. The actuator includes a grasping portion and an actuating member. The expandable element is configured to transition to an expanded configuration in response to actuation of the actuating member. The grasping portion and actuating member are configured to be grasped in a single hand of an operator to enable the operator to advance the dilation catheter relative to the guide member and to transition the expandable element between expanded and unexpanded configurations with the single hand.

摘要: A rapid exchange microcatheter for accessing the intracranial neurovasculature. A side opening through the sidewall is located a first distance proximal to the distal-most tip. A proximal opening located proximal to the side opening is a second distance from the distal-most tip. A distal, reinforced catheter portion extends between a distal end region to a point near the side opening. A proximal, reinforced catheter portion extends a distance from a point near the side opening towards the proximal end of the catheter body. The side opening is positioned within a gap between a proximal end of the distal reinforced catheter portion and a distal end of the proximal reinforced catheter portion. A payload of a cerebral treatment device is housed within the lumen proximal to the side opening. Related devices, systems, and methods are disclosed.

摘要: A catheter-based/intravascular ablation (denervation) system includes a multiplicity of needles which expand open around a central axis to engage the wall of a blood vessel, or the wall of the left atrium, allowing the injection of a cytotoxic or/or neurotoxic solution for ablating conducting tissue, or nerve fibers around the ostium of the pulmonary vein, or circumferentially in or just beyond the outer layer of the renal artery. The expandable needle delivery system is formed with self-expanding materials and include structures, near the end portion of the needles, or using separate guide tubes. The system also includes means to limit and/or adjust the depth of penetration of the ablative fluid into the tissue of the wall of the targeted blood vessel. The preferred embodiment of the catheter delivered through the vascular system of a patient includes a multiplicity of expandable guide tubes that engage the wall of a blood vessel. Injection needles having injection egress at or near their sharpened distal end are then advanced through the guide tubes to penetrate the wall of the blood vessel to a prescribed depth. The ability to provide PeriVascular injection so as to only affect the outer layer(s) of a blood vessel without affecting the media has particular application for PeriVascular Renal Denervation (PVRD) of the sympathetic nerves which lie in the adventitia or outside the adventitia of the renal artery.

摘要: Delivery devices, systems, and methods for delivering implantable leadless pacing devices are disclosed. An example delivery device may include an intermediate tubular member and an inner tubular member slidably disposed within a lumen of the intermediate tubular member. A distal holding section may extend distally of a distal end of the intermediate tubular member and define a cavity therein for receiving an implantable leadless pacing device. At least a portion of the lumen of the inner tubular member may be bifurcated to form a first lumen and a second lumen. The first lumen may be configured to receive a first portion of a tether and the second lumen may be configured to receive a second portion of the tether

摘要: Described embodiments include an apparatus that includes an intrabody catheter and a distal handle-piece connected to the intrabody catheter. The distal handle-piece includes a distal-handle-piece connector configured to reversibly electrically couple the distal handle-piece to a proximal handle-piece via a proximal-handle-piece connector of the proximal handle-piece, such that the proximal handle-piece and the distal handle-piece are held adjacent to one another. Other embodiments are also described.

摘要: A catheter device that includes a double-threaded guidance wire that allows multiple use of a compliant cavity creation device (i.e., treatment of more than one level). The double-threaded guidance wire may be connected with the luer part of the device and a distal part of the balloon using a threaded engagement to avoid lengthening of the inner tube, avoid lengthening of the balloon, and to limit the plastic deformation of the system in axial direction. In other implementations, the double-threaded guidance wire may be reconnected to the distal part of the balloon with a distal thread of the double-threaded guidance wire in order to restore the nominal length.

摘要: A sphenocath including a sheath assembly including a sheath hub with a sheath tube extending therefrom with a passage extending from a proximal end of the sheath hub to a distal end of the sheath tube; a catheter assembly including a catheter hub with a catheter tube extending therefrom with a passage extending from a proximal end of the catheter hub to a distal end of the catheter tube; wherein the catheter assembly passes through the sheath assembly with a portion of the catheter hub engaging a portion of the sheath hub to limit relative rotation between the hubs while permitting relative axial movement such that in an initial non-extended position the distal end of the catheter tube is proximate to the distal end of the sheath tube. A system further including a guidewire is also provided.

摘要: A multi lumen catheter assembly. The assembly provides an expandable, low profile, fixed length sheath and catheter, with fixed infusion ports. The assembly has an expandable outer sheath that expands upon pressure activation with a fluid and the sheath allows the fluid to exit from at least one predetermined fixed location from a distal end of the catheter assembly. The catheter assembly can be used in various medical device procedures, such as a TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt) procedure, or anywhere a low profile, multi lumen, infusion catheter system is desired.
