Abstract:
An array of at least three parallel rolls is provided. The rolls are constrained against each other to provide an elongated coating chamber through which passes a web entrained on at least one of the rolls. As it exits from the chamber, the coated web surface is wiped by another of the rolls, whose surface is entering the chamber at that point.
Abstract:
This disclosure involves periodically bumping webs such as a cigarette filter paper or the like against a shear surface disposed beyond a multi-nozzle adhesive extruder to provide longitudinally intermittent bands of adhesive coatings for the filters or the like, with optional provision for continuous marginal lines of adhesive along and between the bands for adhesion on the head and tail ends of such filters or other articles as well.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are disclosed for measuring the amounts of a coating material on an applicator roll. A beam of light is projected so that only a first portion thereof is intercepted by the coating material on the applicator roll. At least a fraction of the remaining light portion passes through an aperture defined by a slotted shield member and the coated roll surface, said fraction varying with the thickness of said material on the roll surface, and detector means disposed to measure said variable fraction.
Abstract:
The inventive concept provides an apparatus for treating a substrate. The apparatus comprises a processing container having an inner space; a support unit configured to support and rotate the substrate in the inner space; a liquid supply unit configured to supply a treating liquid to the substrate supported by the support unit; and an exhaust unit configured to exhaust an air flow from the inner space, wherein the exhaust unit includes an air flow guide duct with an inlet provided to introduce the air flow into the air flow guide duct in a tangential direction to a rotating direction of the substrate supported on the support unit.
Abstract:
A dispensing system for a rotary dispensing machine includes a tank, a fill tube, and a piston that moves along the fill tube and defines an air chamber and a fluid chamber within the tank. The tank is rotatable relative to the fill tube. A fluid is dispensed from the fluid chamber of the tank through at least one outlet formed in the tank.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a colmating improvement device for cork stoppers, comprising at least three cylindrical shaped rotating means, able to receive a cork stopper entering in a rotational movement with a slight pressure, which stopper is inserted through an insertion tubular device assisted by two pneumatic cylinders. The device further comprises two openings, an inlet opening and an outlet opening, two electric motors/reduction gears, a worm, a chain and a tank that can contain a substance consisting of a binder and cork dust with a solid content between 50 and 100%.
Abstract:
A cap for an additive manufacturing recoater rake includes a clip portion defining a slot configured to receive a side edge portion of a recoater rake, and an angled surface extending from the clip portion. The angled surface is configured to contain powder pushed by the recoater rake on the powder bed.
Abstract:
The present application relates to a slot die coating apparatus and, more particularly, to a slot die coating apparatus which can ensure the coating stability of a substrate film by reducing pressure oscillations within a vacuum chamber when slot die coating is carried out. The slot die coating apparatus according to the present application can effectively dampen pressure oscillations within a vacuum chamber by connecting a pressure oscillation reducing tank to the vacuum chamber and thus can ensure the coating stability of a substrate film, resulting in a reduction in the proportion of defective products.
Abstract:
Various embodiments relate to application of a fluid to a substrate. The fluid is locally heated, for example, to obtain a desired thickness profile.
