    摘要: A steering control system comprises a steering component, a turning component, and a backup mechanism for alternately mechanically separating and linking steering and turning components. A steer-by-wire control unit is provided for executing steer-by-wire control of a turning actuator to a turning angle corresponding to a steering condition and control of a steering reaction force actuator for imparting steering reaction force corresponding to the turning condition. A steering assistance control unit is selectively linked to the backup mechanism to executing steering assistance control for at least one of the steering reaction force actuator and the turning actuator. A control switching unit is provided for controlling a shift, under predetermined conditions, between control by the steer-by-wire control unit and control by the steering assistance control unit.

    摘要: A steering control apparatus for a vehicle including a steering input unit movable to set a steering input, and a steering output unit arranged to output a steering output, the steering input unit being connected via a cable to a body of the vehicle, includes a steering ratio control unit, a steering limiter, and a cable-attachment diagnostic controller. The steering ratio control unit regulates a variable steering ratio as a rate of change in the steering output with respect to a change in the steering input. The steering limiter restricts movement of the steering input unit to limit the steering input. The cable-attachment diagnostic controller is activated in a cable-attachment diagnostic mode, to control the steering ratio in such a manner that the steering input unit is movable over an allowable region defined by the steering limiter when the cable is correctly attached.

    摘要: There is provided a shopping cart comprising a shopping cart basket with a vertically movable bottom wall. The vertical movement of the bottom wall is controlled by two pairs of springs. The first pair of springs has a first maximum load capacity, while the second pair of springs has a second maximum load capacity that is greater than the load capacity of the first pair of springs. The first pair of springs is connected to either the fore or aft corners of the bottom wall. The second pair of springs is connected to the side edges of the bottom wall. Low-friction, non-binding rollers are attached to the upper end of each spring and engage respective guide posts. Preferably, to avoid trapping items (or fingers) in the side walls of the shopping cart basket as the bottom wall lowers, the side walls of the shopping cart are initially collapsed and subsequently expand as the bottom wall lowers. In addition, the shopping cart preferably has a hand brake that prevents movement of the shopping cart unless held open by a user.

    摘要: In a variable gear ratio steering device comprising a rack and pinion gear mechanism, the rack of the rack and pinion gear mechanism is provided with tooth pitch distribution for producing a variable rack gain property in relation to a steering input which includes, in each rotational sense, a low fixed rack gain region near a neutral position, a high fixed rack gain region in a large steering input region, and a progressively increasing rack gain region connected to the low fixed rack gain region via a first point of inflection and to the high fixed rack gain region via a second point of inflection. Because the point of inflection or the point of transition from a fixed low rack gain region to a region of a progressively increasing rack gain falls inside the region of the play of the steering mechanism, the vehicle operator would not be affected by the presence of the point of inflection because as soon as the steering wheel is turned beyond the play or the dead zone near the neutral position of the steering wheel the point of inflection has already been passed. Another point of inflection or the point of transition between the region of the progressively increasing rack gain and the fixed high rack gain region also would not affect the vehicle operator because it is located well outside the range of normal operation in a medium to high speed range, and it will not be noticeable in a low speed range even when the steering angle passes this point.
