Abstract: An example hinged device flexible substrate testing system includes: a first plate comprising a first surface configured to hold stationary a first portion of a hinged device under test; a second plate comprising a second surface configured to hold a second portion of the hinged device under test, the second portion of the hinged device coupled to the first portion via a first hinge having a first folding radius; a third plate comprising a third surface configured to hold a third portion of the hinged device under test, the third portion of the hinged device coupled to the first portion via a second hinge having a second folding radius; a first cam follower coupled to the second plate; a first drive arm configured to move the first cam follower to cause the second plate to rotate about a first hinge pivot axis of the first hinge; a first actuator configured to rotate the first drive arm; a second cam follower coupled to the third plate; a second drive arm configured to move the second cam follower to cause the third plate to rotate about a second hinge pivot axis of the second hinge; a second actuator configured to rotate the second drive arm; and a load cell configured to measure first loads on the first plate while the first actuator moves the second plate and to measure second loads on the first plate while the second actuator moves the third plate.

Abstract: An orbital welding device (1), having a welding current source (10) in a welding current source housing (11) and an orbital welding head (20), which is separate from the welding current source housing (11) and is connected to the welding current source (10) by a cable (2), the orbital welding head (20) having a pipe mount (21) and a welding electrode holder (22) for holding a welding electrode (23). An electric motor (31) is designed to drive the welding electrode holder (22) and thus turn it with respect to the pipe mount (21). The orbital welding head (20) has a chamber (50) for shielding gas. An optical oxygen sensor (40) is designed to measure an oxygen concentration in a measuring region (51) in the chamber (50). The oxygen sensor (40) is arranged outside the chamber (50) and is optically coupled to the measuring region (51) by an optical coupling.

Abstract: Described herein are examples of material testing systems that allow users to select one or more customizable data parsers (from amongst several customizable data parsers) when configuring a workflow for setup, execution, and/or analysis of a test method on a material testing machine. Thereafter, when a piece of data is imported by an importation device during operation of the workflow, the selected data parser(s) can separate (or parse) out several smaller data portions from the imported data. The several smaller data portions can be mapped to different input fields and/or used to set several different (e.g., input field associated) parameters of the workflow at the same time. In this way, a material testing workflow can be made far more efficient than in conventional systems where imported data can only be used to set a single workflow parameter (and/or fill a single input field).

Abstract: A process of applying an adhesive to a substrate is provided that includes the mixing together of the components of a two-part formulation of a Part A and a Part B. The Part A includes a reactive methacrylate phosphate monomer or oligomer, a methacrylate monomer, a high flash point (meth)acrylate monomer, a free-radical polymerization inhibitor, an adhesion promoter, an impact modifier, a toughening agent, and a free-radical polymerization initiator. The Part B includes an impact modifier, a toughening agent, and a polymerization accelerator. The A and B Parts are combined together to form an adhesive mixture. The adhesive mixture is applied to the substrate. A formulation for the Part A and B is also provided. A bonded structure is provided in which the adhesive so created is intermediate between a first substrate and a second substrate.
