    摘要: An outboard motor includes a first case and a second case disposed below the first case. The first case houses therein an oil pan and an upper part of a drive shaft. Within the oil pan, engine oil is held. The second case has its upper edge portion coupled to a lower edge portion of the first case. The second case has a vertical wall disposed therewithin. The vertical wall separates a space within the second case into a cavity and part of an exhaust passage through which exhaust gas passes. The cavity is formed below the oil pan. This arrangement prevents the oil pan from being affected by heat of the exhaust gas. Thus, it becomes possible to prevent the engine oil held within the oil from increasing in temperature.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for discrimination of nodules and false positives in digital chest radiographs, using a wavelet snake technique. The wavelet snake is a deformable contour designed to identify the boundary of a relatively round object. The shape of the snake is determined by a set of wavelet coefficients in a certain range of scales. Portions of the boundary of a nodule are first extracted using a multiscale edge representation. The multiscale edges are then fitted by a gradient descent procedure which deforms the shape of a wavelet snake by changing its wavelet coefficients. The degree of overlap between the fitted snake and the multiscale edges is calculated and used as a fit quality indicator for discrimination of nodules and false detections.

At the same time, a functional description (the main points of the functional description described in the manual) of the key is displayed on said CRT screen. The user can use all the functions of any apparatus by using the remote control functions effectively even though he/she forgets the remote operational procedure or loses the manual.

    摘要: A boron-nitride-containing material of multi-component system is obtained at a low cost by heating a mixed powder containing a boride and an oxide in a nitrifying atmosphere, whereby a part or the whole of the oxide is reduced with the element bonded to boron of the boride to convert the raw materials to one or more kinds of an oxide having less bonded oxygen, an acid nitride, a nitride, a carbide, and a boride and also boron nitride is formed. A sintered product of a boron-nitride-containing material is obtained by packing a mixed powder containing borides in a heat-resistant mold and heating the packed powders in a nitrifying atmosphere while restraining the packed powders by the mold. The sintered product is obtained in which neither expansion nor deformation occurred and no cracks formed.

    摘要: A process for post-treating pre-expanded polyolefin resin particles which comprises charging in a vessel pre-expanded polyolefin resin particles which are pre-expanded by using an inflammable blowing agent, supplying an inert gas into the vessel, and then discharging the inert gas with the inflammable blowing agent gas extracted from the pre-expanded polyolefin resin particles, from the vessel. According to the process of the invention, the inflammable blowing agent can be extracted efficiently, safely and in a short time from the pre-expanded polyolefin resin particles which are pre-expanded by using the inflammable blowing agent. Consequently, the spontaneous cambustion of the particles can be completely avoided even if sparks are generated on the surface of the pre-expanded particles, therefore, it becomes easy to handle the pre-expanded polyolefin resin particles because the particles can be dried and transported by a pneumatic conveyer.
