摘要: A bathing apparatus for thermotherapy includes a bathtub provided with sensors for measuring a water temperature in the bathtub and for measuring the body temperature of a bather. A water supply/heating device adjusts the temperature of water by heating the water in a boiler based on the difference in temperatures measured by the sensors and circulates the water through a circulating passage leading to the bathtub. An oxidation-reduction potential reducing unit is provided in the circulating passage. It includes a container through which water in the circulating passage passes, and vitreous inorganic particles stored in the container for reducing the oxidation-reduction potential of water in the circulating passage when brought into contact with the water in the circulating passage. With this arrangement, because the oxidation-reduction potential of the water in the bathtub is reduced by the oxidation-reduction potential reducing unit, it is possible to reduce the water temperature felt by the bather by at least 1 to 2° C. if the actual water temperature is e.g. 43° C. The patient can thus be subjected to thermotherapy for a long period of time with reduced heat stress.

摘要: A control system for a pool and spa. Main line voltage is provided through a single line voltage service and a single ground fault circuit interrupter circuit, facilitating a ground fault test and simplifying installation. The control system acts as a power distribution system for controlling the pool and spa equipment, with a circuit board assembly including individual fuse protection devices and switching circuits. A test algorithm is included, wherein the control system is disabled from normal operation if the GFCI test fails. The pool operator manually enters a water fill command, and the controller system automatically opens the fill valve for a predetermined time interval, and then automatically closes the valve. An emergency disconnect switch is mounted near the bathing area, connected by low voltage wiring to the controller system cabinet. The controller system senses the emergency switch closure and disconnects line voltage to the line voltage loads. The emergency switch closure also remotely induces a ground fault, tripping the GFCI. A sensing circuit allows the controller system to sense the presence of the emergency switch system, and issues a warning and prevents normal operation of the pool and spa system if not connected. A gas pressure sensor monitors the natural gas line, and the heater is disabled and a warning given under low pressure conditions. Abnormal filter backpressure triggers a warning when the filter needs service. A temperature sensor has parallel sensing elements in a common housing to provide separate sensing circuits.

摘要: Spa systems may be used all year round and in colder weather provide an enjoyable experience for users through the cold ambient outdoor temperature and the heated water of the spa. However, failures in respect of the water circulating pump and/or heater of the spa system either mechanically, electrically or through overall power outages mean the water in the spa system and its pipework can easily freeze if ambient conditions are cold enough leading to cracks in the spa system or pipes and hence leaks when the water thaws requiring costly repair or replacement of components or entire systems. Accordingly, a freeze protection system is provided that uses a backup thermal management system discretely or in combination with other backup systems. These freeze protection systems offering backup when mechanical failures, electrical failures etc. arise by providing thermal input to the spa system through alternate thermal paths and providing alarms.
