Abstract: A display device includes an image display area that includes pixels sectioned by scanning signal lines and video signal lines, first scanning connection lines connected to scanning signal lines, first thin film transistors, first selection signal lines, second thin film transistors, second selection signal lines, and a scanning signal drive circuit connected to the first scanning connection lines, the first selection signal lines, and the second selection signal lines, wherein the scanning signal drive circuit sequentially supplies a pulse signal to the first scanning connection lines in a selection period in which a gate-on voltage is applied to the one of the first selection signal lines, and the scanning signal drive circuit applies a gate-off voltage to the one of the second selection signal lines corresponding to the one of the first selection signal lines to which the gate-on voltage is applied.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, and an electrostatic capacitive type touch panel which is formed in an overlapping manner with the display panel. A plurality of X electrodes and a plurality of Y electrodes intersecting with the X electrodes. A first signal line supplies signals to the X electrodes, a second signal line supplies signals to the Y electrodes, and the first signal line and the second signal line are formed on a flexible printed circuit board. A dummy electrode is formed adjacent to an electrode portion of each X electrode and electrode portion of each Y electrode, the dummy electrode does not overlap the X electrode and the Y electrode, and the dummy electrode does not electrically connect with the first and second signal lines.

Abstract: A display device includes a gate lines extending in a first direction, data lines extending in a second direction, pixel electrodes, a common electrode disposed to face the pixel electrodes, common wirings that are electrically connected to the common electrode; and a common bus line that extends in the first direction outside of a display region and is electrically connected to the common wirings. Each of the common wiring includes a first common wiring portion extending in the first direction and a second common wiring portion that is connected to the first common wiring portion and extends in the second direction outside of the display region. A width of the first common wiring portion in the first direction is larger than a width of the second common wiring portion in the first direction. Both ends of the first common wiring portion in the first direction are electrically connected to the common bus line.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel having a display region and a peripheral region, the display panel including a TFT substrate, a counter substrate fixed to the TFT substrate by seal material formed at the peripheral region, and liquid crystal interposed between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate. The TFT substrate includes an inorganic film and an organic film, with first column spacers being formed on the counter substrate. The organic film includes a first part which has an island-like shape formed at the peripheral region and a second part formed at the display region, and the seal material covers at least one of the first column spacers and the first part of the organic film, and is in contact with the inorganic film. The first part of the organic film is separated from the second part of the organic film of the organic film.

Abstract: A backlight module for a liquid crystal display includes: LEDs; LED drivers; a controller that outputs data and the latch signal to the LED drivers; data lines for transmitting the data; and latch signal lines for transmitting the latch signal. The latch signal lines are wired according to each of a plurality of first groups obtained by dividing LED drivers. The data lines are wired according to each of a plurality of second groups, which are constructed with a collection of at least one LED driver selected from each of the plurality of first groups without duplication, and each data line is commonly connected to at least one LED belonging to the corresponding second group.

Abstract: A display device with built-in touch detection function, the display device includes source lines, detection lines, common lines, gate lines, pixels, control elements, each applying to a corresponding pixel a voltage, a common line driving circuit including a pulse generator that sequentially drives the common lines, the pulse generator generating a first pulse signal for each of the common lines, a pulse compensator, the pulse compensator generating a second pulse signal based on the first pulse signal and the potential input from each of the common lines, the second pulse signal reducing a variation in potential at each of the common lines in response to a potential at each of the source lines, the pulse compensator outputting the second pulse signal to a corresponding common line, and a touch detector that detects a position specified by a user according to the second pulse signal.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device comprises: a first liquid crystal cell being a lateral electric field driven type; a second liquid crystal cell being a lateral electric field driven type; a first polarizing plate and a second polarizing plate, which are disposed so as to sandwich the first liquid crystal cell; and a third polarizing plate and a fourth polarizing plate, which are disposed so as to sandwich the second liquid crystal cell. The liquid crystal display device is configured such that rotation of a liquid crystal molecule of the first liquid crystal cell and rotation of a liquid crystal molecule of the second liquid crystal cell cancel and compensate for a hue change of the first liquid crystal cell or the second liquid crystal cell when viewed from a predetermined direction.
