摘要: A printing apparatus is provided with a heater for heating ink and a cooler for cooling ink, and comprises: an ink circulation route including a heater side route and a cooler side route which are separately provided through the heater and the cooler respectively; a switch mechanism operable to switch the ink circulation route between the heater side route and the cooler side route; and a control unit operable to control the switch mechanism. The control unit controls the switch mechanism to switch the ink circulation route to the heater side route when the ink temperature is lower than a first reference temperature, and switch the ink circulation route to the cooler side route when the ink temperature is no lower than the first reference temperature. By this configuration, the ink heating efficiency can be improved.

摘要: A surge protection circuit comprises a surge detection circuit 14 for detecting a surge applied to a semiconductor integrated circuit, and a protection element 15 for absorbing the surge. The protection element is connected between a signal terminal for supplying a signal to the semiconductor integrated circuit and a power source terminal for supplying a power source voltage. When the power source voltage is not larger than a voltage enough to normally operate the semiconductor integrated circuit and the surge detection circuit does not detect the surge, the protection element is set in a current limiting state. When the power source voltage is not larger than a voltage enough to normally operate the semiconductor integrated circuit and the surge detection circuit detects the surge, the protection element is set in a current non-limiting state.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a perpendicular magnetic recording medium and a substrate for the medium are disclosed, in which abnormal protrusions on an underlayer made of a Ni—P alloy are automatically eliminated while maintaining a flat surface with high accuracy on the underlayer, and appropriate texture traces remain to promote magnetization alignment in the vertical direction in a perpendicular magnetic recording medium without adversely affecting the magnetization alignment. In the method, texture processing is carried out on an underlayer made of a Ni—P alloy on a nonmagnetic base plate using a polishing tape while supplying mixed slurry of a surfactant and abrasive grains of polycrystalline diamond, and then, texture polishing is carried out on the underlayer processed by the texture processing, using a polishing tape while supplying slurry containing an abrasive material and an organic acid until the surface of the underlayer is polished to an arithmetic mean roughness Ra of at most 0.5 nm, preferably in the range of 0.05 nm to 0.2 nm.

摘要: A host computer and recording device can be connected using an existing communication interface, and data can be transmitted between the host computer and recording device at high speed. A recording system 1 has a printer 4 with a plurality of serial interfaces 4A, 4B that can communicate independently, and a host computer 2 with a plurality of serial interfaces 2A, 2B that can communicate independently. The serial interfaces 4A, 4B and serial interfaces 2A, 2B are connected 1:1 to form communicate lines. A plurality of virtual communication channels are assigned to these communication lines and data is exchanged by packet communication over these communication channels. When the printer 4 and host computer 2 are connected through a plurality of communication lines 3A, 3B, only the data channel 31 is assigned to at least one communication line 3A.

摘要: An elastic wave filter has first, second, and third IDT electrodes whose wiring electrodes are connected to unbalanced signal terminal; fourth IDT electrode disposed between the first and second IDT electrodes; fifth IDT electrode disposed between the second and third IDT electrodes; and first and second balanced signal terminals connected to the wiring electrodes of fourth and fifth IDT electrodes, respectively. The ground electrodes of the first through fifth IDT electrodes are connected to the ground. Signals in opposite phase and in phase with a signal input to unbalanced signal terminal are output from first and second balanced signal terminals, respectively. The wiring electrodes of second and third IDT electrodes are adjacent to the ground electrode of fifth IDT electrode. The wiring electrode of one of first and second IDT electrodes is adjacent to the wiring electrode of fourth IDT electrode. The ground electrode of the other is adjacent to the ground electrode of fourth IDT electrode. This configuration can suppress spuriousness in the bandpass.

摘要: A conventional contents-watching device, etc. calculate users' tastes of contents only on the basis of watching frequencies, so that variety programs that the users are less interested in but that are broadcasted every week are apt to get a higher degree of users' tastes than a soccer game of the Japanese national team that the users are highly interested in but that is broadcasted only several times per year. In order to solve the problem set forth above, the present invention proposes a contents-watching device that calculates a taste value by normalizing a watching index indicative of the number of contents-watching times or the like for every contents-attribute with an emergent index indicative of the number of contents-watching chances, acquires an contents-attribute connected with contents to be a subject for watching recommendation, and has a function to calculate watching recommendation information by using the taste value of the contents-attribute.
