Abstract:
A conference apparatus is adapted to advantageously perform a conference with a remote counterpart apparatus, store information on the events of the conference and then provide a realistic reproduction of those events. To this end, the conference apparatus includes an image memory for storing image information entered during the conference. A shared board presents the same image frame to the conference apparatus and to the counterpart apparatus, where the shared board is adapted to have shared information written therein by both the conference apparatus and by the counterpart apparatus, and a shared information memory, different from the image memory time-sequentially stores the shared information written into the shared board. To reproduce the conference in response to time information indicating a time corresponding to a portion of the stored shared information, the conference apparatus reproduces the stored shared information time-sequentially at a high speed until reaching the portion and thereafter synchronously reproduces both the stored image information and the stored shared information time-sequentially at a lower, substantially real-time speed to provide a realistic reproduction of events at the conference.
Abstract:
An image system which captures, along with the images, information defining both the position and the orientation of the camera along with the distance to the subject. A video camera is attached to three accelerometers, two gyroscopes, and a rangefinder. Data gathered from these devices and defining the pitch, yaw, and roll of the camera, the camera's acceleration, and the distance to the subject is captured and recorded along with video images. The video images are later stored within a computer's data base along with data defining the position and orientation of the camera and the distance to the subject for each image, this latter data being computed from the captured data. The images may then be presented to the user in a three-dimensional display in which the user can navigate through the images using a joystick device, with the images located in positions corresponding to the positions in space of the objects that were imaged.
Abstract:
The present invention is a video signal recording and reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing video signals (SvN) inputted from a plurality (n) of different cameras (CMn). A frame switcher (2) sequentially selects one of the video signals (SvN) in prescribed order, and identifying signal adders (10a, 10b) add an identifying signal (Sid) representing a corresponding camera number (N) to the selected video signal (SvN) and generate recording signals (Sr1, Sr2). A recording signal processor (11) modulates the recording signals (Sr1, Sr2) and recording magnetic heads (16a, 16b) record them on a magnetic tape (4). Reproducing heads (15a, 15b) reproduce a recorded recording signal (Sr′) from the magnetic tape (4) and a reproducing processor (14) demodulates the signal. A camera number detector (23) detects the identifying signal (Sid) from a demodulated video signal (Sr2′). Memory (24) stores the demodulated video signal (Sr2′) in relation to the detected identifying signal (Sid), thereby allowing high-speed and normal-speed replay of video from a desired video signal source without video signals from a plurality of video signal sources mixed into.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to an information providing system. More particularly, this invention relates to an information management apparatus capable of reliable management of distributed information and an information providing system employing the same information management apparatus. The information management apparatus comprises a main information reproducing means for reproducing main information recorded in a given recording medium; and a reproduction management means for managing the main information reproducing means for reproducing the main information. The present invention provides a receiving means provided with a means for recording distributed information and control information limiting the number of main information reproducing cycles on a recording medium, and a main information reproducing means provided with a reproduction disabling means for limiting the reproduction of main information.
Abstract:
In a compressed signal recording and reproducing apparatus, a table-of-contents generator extracts user selected representative frames from among frames of an input compressed television signal that can be identified by specified additional information, and generates table-of-contents data representing contents of a specified number of the user selected representative frames. A recording signal processor arranges the input compressed television signal, table-of-contents data, and positional information relating to positions for recording the individual user selected representative frames data, respectively, at specified positions of the recording medium. The apparatus further includes a reproduction signal processor for outputting table-of-contents data recorded at a specified position in the recording medium for exhibiting contents of a plurality of user selected representative frames, from among the reproduction data.
Abstract:
In a helical seen recorder, a sequence of n-bit first codewords (W.sub.1) and n-bit second codewords (W.sub.2) if any, are stored in second track parts (TP2) which form the beginning of the tracks (T.sub.1, T.sub.2 . . . ), these codewords having a form so that both a PR1 detection and a PR4 detection is possible on reproduction. The second codewords are the inverses of the first codewords. An optional form of the first codeword may be: 0001110001110000011100011.

Abstract:
A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus having a capability of allowing contents of records on a magnetic tape to be discriminatively identified and a capability for displaying closed caption includes a tape map memory for storing contents recorded on a tape and a tape map controller. As a manual input facility, a tape map button, a caption button, a play-back button, a stop button and others are provided. Upon loading of a tape undergone recording(s), the tape map button is pushed to display on a monitor screen tape map information concerning the contents of program(s) recorded on the loaded tape, temporal duration(s) of the program(s), and history of play-back of the tape.
