Abstract: In some examples, a system includes an article of personal protective equipment (PPE) having at least one sensor configured to generate a stream of usage data; and an analytical stream processing component comprising: a communication component that receives the stream of usage data; a memory configured to store at least a portion of the stream of usage data and at least one model for detecting a safety event signature, wherein the at least one model is trained based as least in part on a set of usage data generated by one or more other articles of PPE of a same type as the article of PPE; and one or more computer processors configured to: detect the safety event signature in the stream of usage data based on processing the stream of usage data with the model, and generate an output in response to detecting the safety event signature.

Each substantially continuous layer of particles has a length L along the first direction from a first to an opposing second edge of the magnetic film and a width W along the second direction extending from the first to the second major surface. Abstract: A bonded abrasive wheel comprises magnetizable abrasive particles retained in an organic binder. The bonded abrasive wheel has a central portion adjacent to a central hub, an outer circumference and a rotational axis extending through the central hub. The magnetizable abrasive particles adjacent to the central hub are aligned at an average angle of less than 35 degrees with respect to the rotational axis, and the magnetizable abrasive particles adjacent to the outer circumference of the bonded abrasive wheel are aligned at an average angle that is from 35 and 90 degrees, inclusive, with respect to the rotational axis. Methods of making a bonded abrasive wheel are also disclosed.

Abstract: Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags are described that include a substrate, an antenna disposed on a major surface of the substrate, an integrated circuit (IC) disposed on a major surface of the substrate, and one or more stand-alone capacitors disposed on a major surface of the substrate. The antenna may have a length less than about 2 meters between first and second ends of the antenna. The integrated circuit may have an effective capacitance less than about 1000 pF and the one or more stand-alone capacitors may have an equivalent capacitance greater than 500 pF and may be connected in parallel with the antenna and the IC.
