Abstract:
In a copy generation management on paper, the present invention aims to detect a falsification in embedded information and increase the capacity of embedded information while maintaining security. The image processing device embeds second additional information into document image data embedded with first additional information. The image processing device deletes a part where the first additional information is embedded in the document image data, and embeds the second additional information into the part of the first additional information thus deleted. The image processing device further embeds third information different from the first and second additional information at a position different from position at which the second additional information is embedded. Further, the embedding means embeds the third information at a position indicated by the second additional information.
Abstract:
The present invention leverages a series of media watermark locations to provide information relating to media ownership and/or distribution source. This provides a forensic means to establish a source of media with a high degree of certainty despite malicious and/or non-malicious attacks. By providing embedded user unique identification, a source of copied media can be determined without the embedded information substantially interfering with the intended purpose of the media itself. In one instance of the present invention, digital media is transformed into an N-dimensional media signal. User unique keys are then utilized along with a master key to determine locations for embedding a watermark signal that possesses substantially similar quantized statistics as the transformed media signal. The watermark signal is then embedded into the media signal, fingerprinting the media.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to watermarking of compressed audio or video files. One claim recites a method including: obtaining a copy of a compressed audio or video file; decompressing the compressed audio or video file to yield decompressed audio or video content; determining a first watermarking component for the decompressed audio or video content, the first watermarking component intended to be steganographically hidden in the audio or video content; storing the first digital watermarking component separately from the compressed audio or video file; and then providing the stored first watermarking component, a unique plural-bit watermark identifier, and the compressed audio or video file to a remote location. Other claims and combinations are provided as well.
Abstract:
The present claims utilize steganographic embedding to help facilitate tracing of unauthorized copies to a location and particular time. One claim recites a method including: obtaining data representing audio or video, the audio or video to be communicated to an audience assembled at a location at a particular time; and steganographic embedding binary information in the data with a programmed electronic processor, said steganographic embedding modifies portions of the data to hide the binary information in the data, the binary information is associated with the location and particular time of communicating the audio or video to the audience assembled at the location at the particular time. The binary information enables an unauthorized version of the communicated audio or video to be traced back to the location and particular time. Of course, other combination and claims are provided too.
Abstract:
The present disclosure includes methods and apparatus for analyzing audio and video. One claim recites: a method including at a network access point, and using a programmed electronic processor, analyzing data representing audio or video to extract identifying information therefrom, the analyzing operates on data representing audible portions of the audio or operates on data representing picture elements of the video; using the identifying information, determining whether to allow the audio or video to be communicated through the network access point; and providing details associated with said act of determining. Of course, other combinations are provided and claimed as well.
Abstract:
A method of detecting an embedded signal in a media signal. The method comprises receiving blocks of the media signal and computing a detection metric for the blocks. The detection metric comprises a measure of coincidence of detection parameters of different blocks. The method performs subsequent detection operations based on the measure of coincidence of the detection parameters.
Abstract:
Method and system for embedding a unique and different digital watermark in digital contents for each access without increasing the overhear or load at the contents server. The contents server has a digital watermark-embedded contents storage unit for storing a plurality of digital contents where a different digital watermark is embedded, and a fingerprint performing unit for, adding to the digital contents the information specified using a bit row that is formed by a digital watermark being embedded for each part of the digital contents.
Abstract:
A content viewing apparatus capable of performing the transfer and copying of a content, includes a display device that displays the content composed of an image or a document, an information acquiring device that acquires route information composed of identification information including at least one of device identification information which identifies a stopover device over which the content has stopped and user identification information which identifies a user of the stopover device, and content information which relates to the substance itself of the content, a route information creating device that creates route information obtained by adding identification information of the content viewing apparatus itself as a stopover device to the route information acquired by the information acquiring device, and a route information storing device that associates the route information created by the route information creating device with the content information and store the associated information into a storing device.
Abstract:
An image processing system includes a pattern detecting unit that detects a plurality of patterns included in a read image, a magnification determining unit that determines a magnification of the reading the read image on the basis of positional relation between adjacent patterns out of the plurality of patterns detected by the pattern detecting unit, and an information detecting unit that detects information from the read image on the basis of the magnification determined by the magnification determining unit.
Abstract:
The presently claimed invention relates generally to content identification, such as extracting identifying information from content itself. One claim recites a method including: extracting first identifying information from data representing audio elements of an audio signal, said act of extracting first identifying information from data representing audio elements of the audio signal utilizes a programmed electronic processor; extracting second identifying information from data representing picture elements of a video signal that is associated with the audio signal, said act of extracting second identifying information from data representing picture elements of the video signal utilizes a programmed electronic processor; and utilizing the first identifying information or the second identifying information in a synchronization process, said synchronization process controls content synchronization during rendering of the audio signal or the video signal. Of course, other combinations and claims are provided as well.
