Abstract: The method employs a computer interconnected with a GPS transceiver and a distance measurement means and operatively interconnected with a digital camera, all provided on a moving vehicle, to acquire a plurality of geographic location related images. A first geographic position is obtained from the GPS transceiver and a plurality of distance measurements are received before a second geographic position is taken. A photo request is generated after a pre-determined distance is traveled, as determined by the distance measurement means, and transmitted to the digital camera. The camera takes a photo based on the request; and the photos, photo requests, first and second positions and distance measurements are stored for post-processing. Post-processing determines a path traveled by the vehicle using the positions and distance measurements to determine an accurate geographic location and orientation for each photo. The method is suitable for building a database of geographically related images.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an information processing device, an information processing method, and a program that are capable of estimating the self-position by accurately and continuously estimating the self-movement. The information processing device according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a downward imaging section and a movement estimation section. The downward imaging section is disposed on the bottom of a moving object traveling on a road surface and captures an image of the road surface. The movement estimation section estimates the movement of the moving object in accordance with a plurality of images representing the road surface and captured at different time points by the downward imaging section. The present disclosure can be applied, for example, to a position sensor mounted in an automobile.

Abstract: The purpose is to accurately and promptly calculate an error of a magnetic sensor. The GNSS attitude angle calculating module may calculate a GNSS attitude angle of a movable body based on positioning signals of a GNSS. The GNSS geomagnetism calculating module may calculate a GNSS geomagnetism based on the GNSS attitude angle. The error estimating module may estimate a sensitivity error, a misalignment error and a bias error of the magnetic sensor by using a magnetic detection value of the magnetic sensor and the GNSS geomagnetism.

Abstract: A lane identity in a roadway in which a vehicle is traveling can be determined. The roadway can include a plurality of lanes. The determining can include generating a lane identification confidence belief indicating a probability that the vehicle is in a particular lane of the plurality of lanes of the roadway. Generating the lane identification confidence belief can be based on: any detected lane crossings, the number of lanes in the roadway, the lane marker type to a left side and to a right side of the vehicle at the current position of the vehicle or ahead of the current position of the vehicle in a forward direction of travel of the vehicle, and a weighted average of an instantaneous lane identification confidence belief and a lane identification confidence belief prior to a current sample time period.

The system and method may be utilized to avoid contention in the mining environment. A route through the mining environment to the target destination for the vehicle is identified and a first speed profile for at least a portion of the route is determined. A potential contention condition associated with the route is identified and the potential contention condition along the route is used to determine a second speed profile for at least a portion of the route. An optimized speed profile is determined using the first speed profile and the second speed profile, and at least a portion of the optimized speed profile is communicated to the vehicle.
