Abstract:
An ink formulation that includes a reversible color-developing complex formed from a dye precursor molecule having a triarylmethane derivative structure modified with a leaving-group (L) that disassociates from said dye precuror when subjected to environmental conditions of either a neutral or acidic pH value is described. Also the invention pertains to diagnostic indicators or absorbent personal care products that have the ink formulation applied to at least a part of the product.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process of preparing polymer particles which comprise an effective amount of at least one colourant, a polymer matrix and secondary particles distributed within the polymer matrix. The process comprises the following steps: A) Preparation of an emulsion of a polymer formed from a monomer blend in an aqueous phase and Formation of the secondary particles in the aqueous phase; B) Addition to the aqueous phase of an effective colouring amount of at least one colourant; C) Dispersing or dissolving the colourant in the aqueous phase; and D) Subjecting the emulsion to dehydration in a spray-drying unit.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to oxygen scavenging polymer compositions, methods of making the compositions, articles prepared from the compositions, and methods of making the articles. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.
Abstract:
The invention relates to colorant compositions, and aqueous latex paints or other water-borne coatings made from them, which have a mitigated environmental impact. Levels of solvents, additives and impurities comprising volatile non-aqueous constituents, alkylphenol ethoxylates (and derivatives thereof), crystalline silica, and/or formaldehyde are decreased relative to those typical of preceding generations of colorants and tinted aqueous latex paints and other water-borne coatings. On the other hand, paint-performance as indicated by any of Stormer viscosity stabilization, rheological profile flow/leveling and sag resistance, water sensitivity and color transfer resistance is comparable to a paint in which the aforementioned solvents, additives and impurities are still present.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a pigment preparation for coloring polymers. The inventive preparation comprises one or more pigments and a carrier. According to the invention, the carrier includes an oligomer or a combination of low-molecular-weight polymers from the group containing polymers and copolymers of ethylene-acrylic acid, ethylene-maleic anhydride or polypropylene-maleic anhydride. The carrier also includes a polymer from the group containing polymers of ethylene-ethyl acrylate, ethylene/butyl acrylate, ethylene/methacrylic acid, polypropylene with grafted methyl polymethacrylate, polypropylene with grafted polystyrene or block copolymers of styrene. For organic pigments, the preparation contains 50%-70% pigment and 50%-30% carrier. For inorganic pigments, the preparation contains 60%-90% pigment and 40%-10% carrier. The invention comprises a polyvalent pigment preparation which can be used in the production of color concentrates with specific bases and high precision.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a transparent/translucent molding composition and process for making prepared from an impact modifier and a resin blend of polycarbonate and a cycloaliphatic polyester having a matching index of refraction.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a single layer or multilayer tubular food casing, in particular for foods which are scalded, cooked or heated in other ways in the casing, preferably for cooked-meat or scalded-emulsion sausages, hams, cured products or processed cheese, wherein the invention only relates to those casings which have an internal layer which consists of a thermoplastic polymer or predominantly comprises one such, having a substantially smooth, non-absorbent, non-porous and non-felt-like and non-woven-fabric-like surface.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of polyoxalates as binders for antifouling coating compositions and antifouling coating compositions comprising the polyoxalates.
Abstract:
Provided are a polycarbonate resin composition which includes a specific amount of a glass filler and a specific amount of a glossy particle and is excellent in optical characteristics and flame retardancy, and in which difference in brightness between a left half and a right half of a weld line of a molded product is not visually observed, a polycarbonate resin molded article, and a method for producing the polycarbonate resin molded article. The polycarbonate resin composition includes, with respect to 100 parts by mass of a composition composed of (A) more than 90 parts by mass and 99 parts by mass or less of an aromatic polycarbonate resin containing 10 to 40 parts by mass of a polycarbonate-polyorganosiloxane copolymerized resin and (B) 1 part by mass or more and less than 10 parts by mass of a glass filler having a difference in a refractive index of 0.002 or less from the aromatic polycarbonate resin, (C) 0.01 to 3.0 parts by mass of a glossy particle and (D) 0.05 to 2.0 parts by mass of a silicone compound having a reactive functional group.
