Abstract: This Francis-type runner for a turbine includes a crown, a band and blades the number of which is not a prime number. These blades are made as one piece and extend between the crown and the band, and between a leading edge and a trailing edge each trailing edge has its concave face facing upstream over its entire length. In addition, first blades are uniformly distributed about a central axis of the runner in a number equal to a divisor of the total number of blades. Each of these first blades has a point of attachment of its trailing edge to the crown that is lowered by comparison with the point of attachment of the trailing edge to the crown of second blades, which are likewise part of the runner. Moreover, the ratio between, on the one hand, the radius of a circle centered on the central axis of the runner, perpendicular to this axis and passing through the point of attachment of the trailing edge of a first blade to the crown and, on the other hand, the radius of a circle centered on the central axis of the runner perpendicular to this axis and passing through the point of attachment of the trailing edge of the same blade to the band is less 0.15.

Described is a method for fabrication of a conductor bar including, applying a putty at one side of a conductor tape, applying a release foil at the other side of the putty opposed to the conductor tape, removing the release foil before applying the conductor tape to the narrow side of the conductor bar, providing a pressing mold with rounded edges at the inner side of the pressing mold, surrounding the conductor bar with putty and conductor tape with the pressing mold, and hot pressing the conductor bar with the pressing mold.

Abstract: Methods of operating a wind turbine including one or more geared pitch systems. The method comprises a sub-nominal zone of operation for wind speeds below nominal and a supra-nominal zone of operation for wind speeds equal to or above the nominal. The sub-nominal zone of operation comprises a first operational range extending from a cut-in wind speed to a first wind speed and a second operational range extending from the first wind speed to a second wind speed, and the first operational range comprises two or more sub-ranges, wherein a different constant pitch position is defined for each of the sub-ranges. The method further comprises in the first operational range, using the geared pitch systems for setting the blades in the pitch position defined for each sub-range as a function of the current wind speed.

The method further includes providing lifting equipment for lifting the blade holder, attaching the blade holder to the blade, wherein the blade comprises a mount for mounting the blade to the rotor, connecting the lifting equipment to the blade holder, hoisting the blade holder with the blade towards the rotor hub, arranging the beam near the guiding element, bringing the guiding element and the beam in contact with each other and attaching the blade mount to the rotor hub. Wind turbines comprising a rotor hub, the rotor hub comprising a guiding element are also disclosed.

Abstract: Wind turbine rotational system having several drives and a central control system (CCS), each drive comprising a motor, an electronic converter and an actuator. The CCS sends speed and torque setpoints to the electronic converters which drive the motors according to said setpoints. Operation of the system comprises: designating a drive as master and the other drives as slaves; designating, for each slave, one of the drives as reference drive; the CCS determining master speed and torque setpoints, and sending them to the master; the CCS obtaining real torque of the master; CCS obtaining real speed of each reference drive; and the CCS sending to each slave a slave speed setpoint equal to the master speed setpoint, and a slave torque setpoint equal to the real torque of the master plus a variable offset based on a difference between the master speed setpoint and the real speed of its reference drive.

Abstract: It comprises a rotor and a stator that they both may be formed of a single piece or they may be formed of a number of sectors. The generator further comprises at least one active module unit as an independent unit from both the rotor and the stator. The active module unit includes at least one permanent magnet, a magnet support structure attached thereto, a first attaching mechanism to removably attach the magnet support structure to the rotor or the stator, at least one coil module comprising at least one coil winding and a magnetic core, and a second attaching mechanism to removably attach the coil module to the other of the rotor or the stator. The coil module is spaced apart from the permanent magnet a predetermined distance.
