The server according to the present invention includes an information storage unit for storing information related to the game, and a control unit for accessing the information, performing various computations, and displaying game images on a terminal device. In a battle event of this game, multiple character cards are aligned and displayed in a first field, and a player selects therefrom a character card to be used for a battle with an enemy character. The first field is replenished with another character card alternative to the selected character card as needed so that the player can further select an additional character card therefrom.

In a game device, a confirmation sound output unit assigns a sound to each type of an operation input from a player; and upon the reception of the operation input from the player, the confirmation sound output unit outputs the sound assigned to the operation input. A command memory unit stores a plurality of types and patterns of the rhythms of the operation input in association with commands which is issued upon the reception of the operation inputs. A command determination unit acquires the type and rhythm of the operation input from the player and determines whether the type and rhythm of the operation input match the pattern stored in the command memory unit. A repetition unit outputs the sound corresponding to the pattern when the operation input from the player is determined to match the pattern stored in the command determination unit. A game control unit issues the command determined by the command determination unit and advances the game.

Game data, such as sets of notes extracted from the audio track of user generated videos or from audio samples, can be generated based on videos containing musical content or from audio content. A device can use the game data to facilitate an interactive game during playback of the user generated videos or audio samples. Players can press buttons, for example, corresponding to notes as the video with musical content is played within the game interface. Players can be scored for accuracy, and can play with other players in a multiplayer environment. In this sense, user generated video content or audio content can be transformed and used within a gaming interface to increase interaction and engagement between users in a media sharing service.
