Abstract:
A method and system for providing contextually appropriate overlays. The method includes causing the generation of at least one signature for each of at least one input multimedia content element, wherein each signature represents a concept, wherein each concept is a collection of signatures and metadata describing the concept; correlating the concepts represented by the generated signatures to determine at least one context of the at least one input multimedia content element; determining, based on the at least one context of the at least one input multimedia content element, at least one contextually relevant reference multimedia content element, wherein each contextually relevant multimedia content element has a context matching at least one of the determined at least one context above a predetermined threshold; and causing an overlay of the at least one contextually relevant reference multimedia content element on the at least one input multimedia content element.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to identify and credit media using ratios of media characteristics are disclosed herein. Example methods and apparatus determine a first ratio based on a first combination of time intervals of a monitored media signature, the monitored media signature including a plurality of time intervals, respective ones of the time intervals being between respective adjacent characteristics identified in the media, determine a second ratio based on a second combination of time intervals of the monitored media signature, generate a monitored media ratio signature based on the first and second ratios, and compare the monitored media ratio signature with a reference ratio signature to identify the media.
Abstract:
Example signature comparison methods disclosed herein include accessing a first set of values from a query signature based on a first index value, the first set of values determined based on a corresponding set of first angles between a first reference line and respective first lines tangent to first functions defined from first frequency band values determined for monitored audio. Disclosed example methods also include accessing a second set of values from a reference signature based on the first index value. Disclosed example methods further include computing a first correlation coefficient based on the first and second sets of values, and comparing a set of correlation coefficients including the first correlation coefficient to a threshold to determine whether the query and reference signatures match.
Abstract:
Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture of a media presentation device is disclosed. The disclosed example includes an output device, an input to receive user input, and a monitor installed in the media presentation device at a time of manufacture of the media presentation device, the monitor provided to a manufacturer of the media presentation device by an audience measurement entity. The monitor to obtain demographic information of a user via the input and present an agreement to the user via the output device of the media presentation device. The monitor to enable collection of monitoring information when the agreement is accepted, prevent collection of monitoring information when the agreement is not accepted and collect monitoring information identifying at least one of a media presentation on the media presentation device or a user interaction with the media presentation device when the collection of the monitoring information is enabled.
Abstract:
A computer system comprising one or more electronic communications devices, one or more processors, and one or more computer readable media having stored thereon computer instructions for carrying out the steps of: maintaining one or more databases comprising first electronic data comprising digitally created reference compact electronic representations for each of a plurality of reference electronic works and second electronic data associated with the reference electronic works and related to action information; obtaining a first digitally created compact electronic representation comprising one or more extracted feature vectors of a first electronic work; identifying a matching reference electronic work comparing the first digitally created compact electronic representation of the first electronic work with the first electronic data using an approximate nearest neighbor search; determining the action information corresponding to the matching reference electronic work based on the second electronic data; and associating the determined action information with the first electronic work.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of processing a hybrid broadcast service. The method comprises, receiving broadcast signals for the hybrid broadcast service, wherein the broadcast signals includes address information about the signaling information, transmitting a request for signaling information of the broadcast signals and receiving signaling information via a broadband channel or a mobile broadband by using one of a unicast method, a multicast method and an eMBMS (evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) method.
Abstract:
In one aspect, an example method for outputting an alert indicating a functional state of a back-up audio-broadcast system involves: a computing device receiving a first audio-stream that represents first audio-content; the computing device generating a first signature based, at least in part, upon an extent of single-channel/multi-channel transitions included within the first audio-content; the computing device receiving a second audio-stream that represents second audio-content; the computing device generating a second signature based, at least in part, upon an extent of single-channel/multi-channel transitions included within the second audio-content; the computing device making a determination that the generated first-signature and the generated second-signature lack a threshold extent of similarity; and responsive to the determination that the generated first-signature and the generated second-signature lack the threshold extent of similarity, the computing device outputting an alert.
Abstract:
Small changes in a broadcast version of a base media item can be identified by performing a multi-level comparison of digital fingerprints. A fingerprint of a base media item is compared to a fingerprint of a media broadcast to determine whether a media item embedded in a broadcast is likely, to a first level of certainty, to be the base media item. A second, more stringent, match between the fingerprint of the base media item and loosely matched items can be used to identify potentially-altered versions of the base media item. Potentially-altered versions can be compared against each other, and resulting matches are flagged as altered base media items, which can be fingerprinted and tested against broadcast fingerprints in the same manner as the base media item.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for determining whether a media presentation device is in an on state or an off state are disclosed. A disclosed example method comprises determining contribution values from at least one of a signal measured from a sensing device or an output signal accessed from the presentation device, wherein the contribution values are indicative of a state of a presentation device. Summing, via a logic circuit, a first plurality of the contribution values corresponding to a first measurement cycle to generate a first intermediate fuzzy score for the first measurement cycle. Storing the first intermediate fuzzy score in a buffer including a plurality of intermediate fuzzy scores corresponding to respective measurement cycles. Combining, via the logic circuit, the intermediate fuzzy scores corresponding to a first time period to form a final fuzzy score. When the final fuzzy score satisfies a threshold, setting the state of the presentation device as on and enabling crediting of media presented by the presentation device.
Abstract:
Example methods and apparatus to generate identifying tags for media content as described herein. An example method includes obtaining an identifier value associated with at least one of audio or video of received media content by at least one of: extracting the identifier value from at least one of the audio or the video or determining the identifier value based on inherent information of at least one of the audio or the video, generating a tag including the identifier value, and storing the tag with the media content to cause the tag to be distributed to a presentation location along with the media content.
