Abstract: An intelligent electronic device (IED) of an electric distribution system includes processing circuitry and a memory having instructions. The instructions, when executed by the processing circuitry, are configured to cause the processing circuitry to perform operations that include receiving an indication to establish a media access control security (MACsec) communication link in accordance with a confidential mode configured to block access to communication traffic associated with the MACsec communication link, indicating that the MACsec communication link is to be established in accordance with the confidential mode, receiving establishment of the MACsec communication link in accordance with the confidential mode, and communicating data via the MACsec communication link.

Abstract: To enable efficient processing of an insurance claim that is submitted by a client, the presently disclosed embodiments include systems and methods that enable an insurance computing system to autonomously assess the risk of fraud associated with a claim by generating a risk score. The risk score may provide an indication of a likelihood of fraud associated with the claim based on similar insurance claims in the same geographical area, client information indicative of a likelihood to commit fraud, and/or a type of the claim. The insurance computing system may compare the risk score with a threshold number, and if the threshold number is exceeded, the insurance computing system may prompt the client to contact a service representative to further process or validate the claim. Otherwise, if the threshold number is not exceeded, the insurance computing system may continue processing the claim autonomously.

Abstract: A service tracking and guidance system includes processing circuitry configured to receive, from a location tracking device and/or an online service, usage data indicative of usage of a service by a consumer. The processing circuitry is also configured to determine a usage value based on the usage data, to receive remittance data indicative of recurring payments made by the consumer for the service, and to retrieve a usage threshold that represents a level of usage of the service that justifies the recurring payments. The processing circuitry is further configured to compare the usage value determined based on the usage data for a time period that corresponds to at least one of the recurring payments to the usage threshold and to provide an output with directions to increase the usage value or to facilitate cancellation of the service in response to the usage value being below the usage threshold.

Abstract: Headgear includes one or more sensors that provide input information to a controller of the headgear. The sensors may include accelerometers, location sensors, wireless receivers, cameras, and so on. The controller may receive the input information that is indicative of an orientation of the headgear, a location of the headgear, a communication signal, and/or an image or video. The headgear may also include one or more output devices that may be controlled by the controller (e.g., actuators, electronic displays, lights, speakers, and/or communication interfaces). As such, the headgear may output instructions to actuate an actuator, display an image on an electronic display, activate a light, emit a sound using a speaker, and/or send a communication signal using a communication interface. In particular, the headgear may determine an instruction to send to an output device in response to receiving the input information, and send the instruction to the output device.
