    摘要: Apparatus for continuously controlling an electrically-actuated solenoid valve which regulates the fluid pressure conveyed to a brake cylinder. The solenoid valve is designed for intermittent operation. A pressure transducer senses and generates an actual value signal, which is proportional to the pressure to be regulated. A set value generator produces a select set value signal. A comparator device generates a pulse-type control signal having a variable width repetition rate within a certain pressure range for the solenoid valve in accordance with the difference between the actual value signal and the set value signal. In order to regulate the pressure more precisely and more quickly, without dependence on outer influences, the comparator device generates the control signal for controlling the solenoid valve within a predetermined initial pressure range, in accordance with the actual value pressure sensed by the pressure transducer in such a way that the solenoid valve is slightly opened by being pulsed from a closed-valve position.

    摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for the control of brake pressure in a trailer pulled by a tractor. The apparatus includes a two-circuit controllable relay valve as the trailer control valve. The first circuit is controlled by the brake valve of the tractor with the pressure from the brake apparatus of such tractor. The second circuit can be optionally-connected to a distribution valve with a pressure medium source with a specified pressure or with atmosphere. Activation of the distribution valve is controlled so that the distribution valve connects the second circuit with the pressure medium source before or at the beginning of the activation of the first circuit. With this apparatus, the brake pressure can be increased in the brake apparatus of the trailer prior to increase of the brake pressure in the brake apparatus of the tractor. The level of brake pressure increased first in the brake unit of the trailer can be regulated by a set screw acting on the trailer control valve.

    摘要: An arrangement for determining the position of a core within a coil improves a voltage across the coil upon generation of an initiating voltage pulse. The initiating voltage pulse can originate from a microprocessor or other electrical timing logic circuit. The charging current in the coil is developed from this initiated time until either a predetermined current level is reached in one embodiment or a predetermined time duration is reached in another embodiment. A microprocessor or other electrical measuring circuit measures either the time duration to reach the predetermined current level or the discharge time following current charging for the predetermined time duration. A microprocessor or other electrical logic circuit derives the core position from the measured time to reach the predetermined current level or the measured discharge time following current charging for the predetermined time duration. A switching element interrupts the charging of the coil before the current can reach a peak level, such timing measurement thereby occurring during the approximately linear portion of the inductive current charging curve.
