Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of this disclosure, a computational simulation platform comprises a computer-implemented method that includes: generating a mesh or meshless three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of a vessel lumen and a surface of the vessel lumen based on invasive or non-invasive imaging; assigning material properties to the 3D reconstructed surface of the vessel lumen based on the invasive or non-invasive imaging; performing balloon pre-dilation, stenting and balloon post-dilation computational simulations with the 3D reconstructed vessel lumen and surface of the vessel lumen; and assessing stent and vessel morphometric and biomechanical measures based on the computational simulations.

Abstract: A number of improvements are provided relating to computer aided surgery utilizing an on tool tracking system. The various improvements relate generally to both the methods used during computer aided surgery and the devices used during such procedures. Other improvements relate to the structure of the tools used during a procedure and how the tools can be controlled using the OTT device. Still other improvements relate to methods of providing feedback during a procedure to improve either the efficiency or quality, or both, for a procedure including the rate of and type of data processed depending upon a CAS mode.

Abstract: An apparatus for collecting a nasal specimen includes a device body with a nozzle at a distal end of the device body. The nozzle is configured to interface with a nasal cavity. The apparatus further includes an irrigation path and a collection path within the device body. The collection path may be separate from the irrigation path. The irrigation path is configured to direct a fluid from an irrigation chamber into the nasal cavity in order to dislodge a sample from the nasal cavity. When the fluid flows back out of the nasal cavity, the collection path is configured to direct at least a portion of the fluid and the sample dislodged from the nasal cavity into a collection chamber.
