Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for determining the material composition of a semiconductor device at an area of interest are described. An electron time-of-flight spectrometer is used within a semiconductor inspection system. The spectrometer is placed on the opposite side of an objective lens from the area of interest. In one embodiment, the electron time-of-flight spectrometer is an electron drift tube. A computing module produces an electron emission spectrum for the materials at the area of interest.
Abstract:
One embodiment disclosed relates to a scanning electron beam apparatus including an objective lens, scan deflectors, de-scan deflectors, an energy-filter drift tube, and a segmented detector. The objective lens may be an immersion lens configured with a high extraction field so as to preserve azimuthal angle discrimination of the electrons scattered from the specimen surface. The de-scan deflectors may be used to compensate for the scanning of the incident electron beam. The energy-filter drift tube is configured to align the scattered electrons according to polar angles of trajectory from the specimen surface.
Abstract:
This invention relates to peptide aldehyde derivatives of formula (I): D-Xaa-Pro-Arg-H, wherein Xaa represent a 2-cycloheptyl-2-hydroxyacetyl or 2-cyclopentyl-2-hydroxyacetyl group, Pro represents an L-prolyl residue and Arg represents an L-arginyl residue, their acid-additon salts formed with an organic or inorganic acid and pharmaceutical compositions containing the same. The compounds of formula (I) of the invention have therapeutic, particularly anticoagulant, antiplatelet and antithrombotic properties.
Abstract:
A readout apparatus and method for processing spatially distributed signals is disclosed. The readout apparatus and method may reduce/eliminate the impact gain variations among a plurality of sensing channels. This is done by continuously varying the dispersion properties of a signal distribution device, which may induce a spatial shift of the signal distribution during data acquisition, allowing the distributed signals to move across the sensor area. Shifting of the distributed signals may occur multiple times, hence eliminating the impact of gain variation across the sensor array. The accumulated data may be re-assembled subsequently to complete the readout operation.
Abstract:
A method for setting up a VPN is described. The VPN is set up in a backbone network having a plurality of PE routers for controlling the transfer of IP traffic to and from CE routers in satellite networks. In a PE router, a VRF is configured for the VPN and populated with local routes for the VPN. A VLAN identifier is assigned for the VPN, and advertised to other PE routers in the backbone network. Alternatively, the VLAN identifier may be determined by a predetermined mapping algorithm so it will be unique to the VPN in all PE routers, in which case the advertisement to other PE routers may contain an implicit NULL label.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for selecting a network resource from a plurality of network resources in a communications network. A selection node receives a request for a network resource from a terminal, and then retrieves, from at least one further network node, data relating to the plurality of network resources. On the basis of the retrieved data, the selection node selects a network resource from the plurality of network resources. A response is then sent to the terminal, the response including information identifying the selected network resource.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an MEA including a layer system, the layer system together with a plastic film located above and below it being punched out by a heated and shaped punching tool. The film-coated layer system, which is welded together only at the outer edges, is further processed by heating and pressing the marginal zones in a subsequent operation, the plastic film softening or melting in the marginal zone and penetrating the marginal regions. Thus, the marginal region in the periphery of the layer system is sealed in a gas-tight manner within seconds. The film inside the marginal zones which is no longer needed or not heated is removed by suction.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a circuit and method for automatic tuning of a resonant circuit in a transceiver having a receiver and a transmitter that includes a power amplifier for driving the resonant circuit. During a transmit mode of the transceiver, a resonance voltage of the resonant circuit is compared to an input voltage signal to the power amplifier to determine an error signal that is converted into a control word. The control word drives an adjustable capacitance bank that is part of the resonant circuit. During a receive mode of the transceiver, the control word value is held constant to substantially maintain resonance of the resonant circuit during operation of the receiver.
Abstract:
A method for producing a catalytic converter includes depositing a layer of catalytically active metallic material by electrochemical deposition on a planar substrate by immersing the substrate in an electrolyte that contains the catalytically active metallic material. A high overvoltage at which a large number of seeds of the metallic material are formed on the substrate is set for a predetermined first time period between the substrate and the opposing electrode. The overvoltage is reduced for a predetermined second time period to a value at which the seeds which are deposited in the first time period grow on the substrate.

A new method for the production of furniture is provided comprising the steps of providing tree trunks and branches; debarking, drying and cutting said tree trunks or branches to the desired size; producing tenons and mortises in respective ends of said cut tree trunks or branches, said tenons being sized to cooperatively engage said mortises; and assembling furniture from said cut tree trunks or branches by inserting said tenons into said mortises in order to fix respective tree trunks or branches to one another.
