    摘要: A composition comprises 20 to 80 wt. % of a polyester component comprising a modified polybutylene terephthalate random copolymer derived from a polyethylene terephthalate component selected from polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene terephthalate copolymers and having at least one residue derived from the polyethylene terephthalate component; from 5 to 35 wt. % of a flame retardant phosphinate (I) or (II) (R1)(R2)(PO)—O]−mMm+   (I) [(O—POR1)(R3)(POR2—O)]2−nMm+x,   (II) and/or a flame retardant polymer thereof, wherein R1 and R2 are independently are H, C1-C6-alkyl, or C6-C10-aryl; R3 is C1-C10, alkylene, C6-C10-arylene, -alkylarylene or -arylalkylene; M is an alkaline earth metal, alkali metal, Al, Ti, Zn, Fe, or boron; m is 1, 2, 3 or 4; n is 1, 2, or 3; and x is 1 or 2; 1 to 25 wt. % of a melamine polyphosphate, melamine cyanurate, melamine pyrophosphate, and/or melamine phosphate; and more than 0 to 25 wt. % of a polyetherimide.

    摘要: An aliphatic ketone polymer composition having during melt processing improved melt stabilization against significant cross linking and reduced discoloration wherein the composition has in addition to the aliphatic ketone polymer an additive stabilizer comprising a polyol such as sorbitol and an aluminum hydroxide, or an alumina hydrogel, or decomposition products thereof such as pseudo-boehmite. The additive is present in an amount of about 0.01 to about 10.0 weight % based on the weight of ketone polymer and additive.

    摘要: A thermoplastic molding composition comprises a resin composition having 50 to about 90 weight percent of a polyester, about 8 to about 48 weight percent of a polyetherimide, about 2 to about 25 weight percent of a high rubber graft impact modifier, each based on the total resin composition, and up to about 15 weight percent of a particulate filler. A making the composition comprises pre-melt compounding a polyester, a polyetherimide, and a high rubber graft impact modifier to form a pre-compounded blend, wherein the pre-compounded blend has a Tg of greater than or equal to about 110° C.; and dry-blending a crystallized polyester with the pre-compounded blend to form the molding composition. Such molding compositions are particularly useful in blow-molding container for liquids such as beer.

    摘要: A halogen-free, flame retardant polyester composition comprises, based on the total composition, (a) A poly(ethylene terephthalate) with a molecular weight of at least 50,000 or a blend of poly(ethylene terephthalate) with another polyester, taking into account that the ratio poly(ethylene terephthalate)/other polyester should be at least 55/45. (b) A combination of at least one N-containing compound, selected from the group of triazine, guanidine, or (iso)cyanurate compounds, and at least one P-containing compound, selected from the group of BPA-diphosphates or phosphoramides with the proviso that the ratio of the total amount of P- and N-containing compounds over the total polyester amount should be between 0.3 and 0.6 and the ratio of the P-containing compound over the N-containing compound should be higher than 0.8. (c) An anti-dripping agent in an amount of 0.01-2 weight percent of the total composition. (d) A reinforcing filler in an amount of 0-40 weight percent of the total composition.

    摘要: UV-stabilized or other modified polycarbonates are prepared by combining polycarbonate, a radical polymerization initiator and a UV-stabilizer-molecule or other additive such as a flame retardant or IR additive containing a reactive group susceptible to radical attack in a melt. In the melt, the UV-stabilizer or other additive is graft polymerized to the polycarbonate to form a modified polycarbonate. The method can be practiced using bis-phenol-A (BPA) polycarbonates, soft-segment polycarbonates and high heat polycarbonates. The reaction may be performed in an extruder.
